Nolan and Cooper to Rejoin TBS?

2010-03-29 by Athom EMERITUS | 50 Comments
Rumor has it that John Nolan and Shawn Cooper will be taking back up their old posts with pop-punk juggernaut Taking Back Sunday. The speculation started with the departure of Taking Back Sunday members Matt Rubano and Matthew Fazzi followed by a new picture on the band's official website showing the band's Tell All Your Friends era line-up with their faces crossed out. Further fanning the flames, John Nolan's twitter account was updated with the following message: "My legal team has advised me not to comment at this time."

John Nolan and Shawn Cooper left Taking Back Sunday in 2003 to form Straylight Run. As of February 16, 2010, Straylight Run has been on an indefinite hiatus.

Straylight Run is done because they went from good to suck with a quickness. As for them coming back to TBS, it would make sense.

Im extremely interested. I grew up on Tell All Your Friends and I cant wait to see how Nolan, who has gone way down the indie road of things musically, is going to influence TBS's pop-punk sound.

I've got a bad feeling about this

Was that a play on a decade under the influence? if so, well done

I'm be A-OK with John Nolan rejoining. However, I really do like Rubano's work and am bummed to hear he's leaving.

I thought it was a pretty obvious reference. Wake up Adam.

I'm with Zero on this. Sure, it would be awesome is they could pull out another 'Cute Without the E', but Rubano is a really good bass player & I think he will be significantly missed.

Excited if nolan rejoins, pissed about Rubano leaving. My favorite member and a terrific bass player. He will be missed.

I'm hoping that, if Nolan and Cooper are back in the band, that they will actually be able to make something good again with each other as a band.

Would be sooo good. There's too much potential to comprehend.

And also, in regards to Matt Rubano leaving:
Yes, he's a great bassist. But listen to Tell All Your Friends and tell me there isn't some great bass work there. I think if Cooper has progressed at all, or even stayed the same for that matter, the hole will be more than sufficiently filled.

YESSSSSSSS. i would be so happy if this actually happened. "tell all your friends" is one of my all-time favorite albums. even though they were much more of a high school band for me, it would still be sweet to see em reunited.

If this happens, I may have to actually go see them live for once. Although I do kinda of think that Rubano is a better bassist.

Cooper is awesome on the bass... he's more into the music, less into the fame... won't push himself in front of anyone on the stage either! Can't wait to see Nolan and Shaun reunited with TBS! This is freakin incredible.
