Drummer leaves Social Distortion

2010-03-09 by Damrod EMERITUS | 7 Comments
According to the official Social Distortion website, drummer Atom Willard parts ways with the band after only eleven months:

"Due to many foreseeable scheduling conflicts with his band Angels And Airwaves, we regret to announce that Atom Willard will no longer be able to continue on drums for Social Distortion. We know this was not an easy decision for him, but Atom is an incredible individual and we’re all better people for having him on board while we did. Atom will be sorely missed, but we wish him the very best."

There is no word yet about a possible replacement for Willard, or how this will impact the planned new album of the band. It seems though that the announced departure does not cancel the ongoing tour through South America

When are we gonna see a horrible, drawn-out, vindictive, obnoxiously arrogant motherfucker break-off from his band? It seems all these bands are becoming better people nowadays because of some drummer or bassist.

Haven't we, as consumers of music, moved on from this band anyway by now? They're too old to play punk rock.
