i might give this a listen. i haven't given any of their albums a try since dark light, but i used to be really into them.

Alrighty then. A solid 3.5-4, but i'll give it a 4 out of loyalty to the band. I really like the screaming here, if im not mistaken they havent really implemented that vocal style heavily before this. But i could be wrong. I've only heard a handful of their albums.

Venus Doom is a severely underrated album because HIM really gave a mature album, but it wasnt as poppy as their other material so the media didnt give it the attention it deserved.

this album however isnt as strong but has some good songs

Seems to be slightly better then past material, Dark Light was average, Venus Doom was alright when your in the mood.

They could easily still keep the songs and just change the titles.

Less emphasis on keyboards, more emphasis on guitars. Much heavier songs, and a way better display of musicianship, nah i think i'll stick with my previous statement.

The album is like a 80's poppy Razorblade Romance.

Razorblade Romance pwns this. I don't see the resemblance. As a matter of fact this is a catchier better musical version of Dark Light
