New Deftones Album Info! 2006-08-20 by Stormy Smiley Face | 12 Comments | The Deftones new record and follow-up to the 2003 album, "Deftones", will be released October 31 and is titled "Saturday Night Wrist". The first single for the new album is "Hole In The Earth" and can be heard at www.myspace.com/deftones
The former band System Of A Down's Serj Tankian will make an appearance on the song "Mein" and Giant Drag's Annie Hardy will appear on "Pink Cellphone".
Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham commented earlier this year about the new record:
"Actually, if you look at our last record, I refer to it as 'Dark Days' because that's basically what it was. It's kind of an incomplete record from my viewpoint. I think it's a good record [with] a lot of good songs but the new album, from start to finish, is a very complete record and has all of the extremes that we like. I'd say it's kind of hard."
"Saturday Night Wrist" track listing (for now):
01. Hole in the Earth
02. Fm
03. Beware
04. Cherry Waves
05. Mein (feat. Serj Tankian)
06. Interlude
07. Tilde
08. Rats
09. Pink Cellphone (feat. Annie Hardy)
10. Combat
11. The Earth
12. Comanche

woo hoo! new deftones!
i agree about the last record. some of those songs could have been better.
| | | i've been waiting for this for a while. I can go ahead and consider this mine.
| | | I should check the Detones out sometime. I've heard they're a very worthwhile band, especially considering their nu metal.
| | | you've never gave the Deftones a listen!?! Your a bit late, rumor has it that this might be their last album...something about the band not getting along
| | | I shall be getting my hands on this when it comes out.
| | | the song is really good. and i dont think that the deftones are the best nu-metal band. they are good though
| | | Awesome new song! I found they took a new direction with this new song, but it still has the distinct Deftones quality to it.
| | | *falls on the ground*
| | | Fuck yeah!!!
| | | The new song is tight. They're doing a little movement to what Cave In did. Drop some of the chunkiness but keep the staples of what made the band interesting: good atmosphere and tone, and powerful emotive vocals.
| | | 'Hole in the Earth' is amazing,i'm waiting with baited breath for this album.Incredible band, they keep on pushing boundaries...
| | | about... fucking.... time!!!
