It's a build-up to the next album. Think Tool's Opiate before their first full-length. Think Metallica's $5.98 ep before introducing the first Newsted album (Justice). Think Mars Volta's Tremulant before the Rubin-produced Deloused. etc...
The movie serves the same purpose as the Fall Be Kind ep. It's to spread word of mouth, HYPE. And if you had an opportunity to be a defining figure in music that would influence the future of popular alternative music, you would take it too! Right? I know I would!
