Vultures Planning Follow-Up

2009-11-22 by Observer EMERITUS | 21 Comments
Them Crooked Vultures are already planning their follow-up to their self-titled album that was just released this month. The group has stated that they have only just begun:

I felt we've only just started to pick up steam. Why would we want to stop now?" singer Josh Homme told The Sun, while bassist John Paul Jones agreed. "We all know we have so much more in us yet," he said.

Dave Grohl said that "when we make our second record, it's going to be even more powerful than this one".

I have yet to listen to their first album, but I definitely plan on it.

It seems a few bands get carried away like this, but I hope these guys are actually able to write and record another one soon.

Led Zeppelin and The Beatles would record like 2 albums a year, I can definitley see these guys getting away with it.

Jeez, their debut has been just released. I expect their second to be better material, and less QOTSA-ish, even though that wish will not be granted.

Yeah as much as I liked this release, I'd like to see more input from JPJ and Grohl, someone needs to gag Homme because he fails to see everything does sounds exactly the same.

I do hope Homme gets to put his stuff in a new QOTSA album instead of having the most output in this one.

Their record is pretty entertaining, though they should prolly tour and support this one before getting ahead of themselves. These guys definitely have potential, but like Anotherdeadjuliet said, I'd love to see more input from the rhythm section, Homme kinda gets annoying and redundant.

If anything, It's good to see a band wanna jump in the studio as soon as possible.

these guys really don't need to tour at all (generating hype-wise), the attention this album is receiving from the media is giving them mad exposure

if they can put out another album within the next year that would be sick as tiny tim

Ah, great. Their debut's awesome even though it sounds very Homme. Which isn't necessarily so bad - I haven't listened to Homme bands so much. Even though because of Them Crooked Vultures, I've began to get more interested in Homme's projects...

And yeah, as alachlahol said, these guys would probably get massive amounts of money even with no touring at all.

So, I like this and I'm very eagerly awaiting the second album... Even though the first has just been released. :D Not that I wouldn't listen to it though. x)

Pretty underwhelmed by the first one. And I like all three of their other respective bands.
