Dark Tranquillity Album Title

2009-11-15 by Kyle Ward EMERITUS | 44 Comments
In a recent interview with About.com, Dark Tranquillity vocalist Mikael Stanne gave the title of their upcoming album, as well as a release date. Stanne says, when questioned about the new studio album:

"As I said, the recording and mix is done and now we are working on all the things around it. The album is called 'We Are The Void' and the release will be in late February 2010. I am still not able to listen to it objectively, but we all are extremely satisfied with it. It has everything that I love about this band, and it kicks off the next 20 years in a great way. There is more drama, more anger, more sorrow and less filler."

That's a pretty shitty album title. But anyway, this should be cool.

Arsis, Orphaned Land, and Dark Tranquillity all within the first two months of next year. So much metal.

Album title is horribly generic. But this should kick ass anyway.

Besides DT, this is going to be a pretty weak 2010 hahaha.

I didn't like them much at first either, but once you get into them you REALLY get into them. Not that everyone should like them granted.

I've owned Mabool for about 4 years plus too many spins to count and I will always find their brand of melodic death metal to be medicore. Plus, the cultural elements feel very forced and unnecessary. Just my thoughts on the album.

Would have preferred a vague one word title but the album will still rule regardless.
Also how am I the only one to have rated the DVD?

This.

It comes out in the USA this Tuesday, I forgot to pre-order but I will pick it up this week.

Some people thought the middle songs were filler. Personally I thought every song was good but Icipher and Blind at Heart (think i got the names right) never stood out as being special.

Focus Shift is the closest thing to filler, but it's still a nice song. Maybe they thought every song but the top three as filler. And now they make an album with quality comparable to Terminus, Icipher and Blind at Heart (Oh, the irony).

Blind at heart was definitely the best song off fiction. I much preferred character though, so hopefully they go back to a more raw, less polished sound. But I can't see it happening tbh...

"Raw and less polished" would sound more like The Gallery, no?
