Warped Tour Adds and Leavings 2006-07-29 by Stormy Smiley Face | 11 Comments | In a trend that seems to be fashionable this summer, Christian Post-Hardcore band underOATH have dropped off the Warped Tour '06 to focus on themselves.
Here is a statement from the band:
We're deeply frustrated and sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We felt it necessary to take some immediate time to focus on our friendship, as that's more important than risking it for the sake of touring at this time."
Other bands such as He Is Legend, From First To Last, The Fall of Troy, and Gatsbys American Dream have already dropped off the tour.
One band to join late though is 30 Seconds To Mars. The dates they will play are below.
Aug-1 Darien Center, NY Darien Lake PAC
Aug-2 Fitchburg, MA Fitchburg Airport
Aug-8 Charlotte, NC Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
Aug-9 Virginia Beach, VA Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Aug-10 Bristow, VA Nissan Pavillion at Stone Ridge
Aug-11 Cleveland, OH Tower City Amphitheater
Aug-12 Barrie, ON Park Place (Molson Park)

I wanted to see FFTL and Fall Of Troy.
| | | I pretty much spent 35 dollars on a ticket to go see Alexisonfire and HORSE the Band. I recently saw Fall of Troy so I'm not too dissapointed, instead I'm anticipating a crazy new album. Warped has a way of dissapointing people though.
| | | I am so glad I am going to see Unholy Alliance...
This sounds as if it is going to be very shit.
| | | That's pretty selfish of those bands. I mean despite troubles within the band, you still should put on a show for people who bought tickets.
| | | ^Not if it would mean the break up of the band, or resulting in unhappiness. It's not selfish at all for a band to do that really if in the long run it would help them.
| | | ^^agreed
but i REALLY wanted to see Gatsb's
oh well
| | | Man, the two scenest bands have dropped the tour. At least From First to Last had a better reason than underOATH that really disappoints me. But at the end of the day, bands start as friends and need to stay that way. Hope they pull things together.
| | | They should stop being pussies and get on the road. Next they'll bring out a DVD of them at councilling *ahem*
| | | 2 of the 4 bands I went to see, (Gatsby's and Fall of Troy) dropped out by the time they got to Calgary. I didn't know about them dropping beforehand. Disappointment ensued.
I know there was interview with Fat Mike about how NOFX flat out hated Underoath and apparently there was a bunch of drama between the two bands. I wonder if that played a role in any of this.
| | | I remember when Warped Tour was filled with awesome 3rd wave ska bands. I think that I'll sit this one out, I've never been a big 30 Seconds to Mars fan anyway.
| | | I was mad that i couldn't catch FFTL, but everyone else i don't care about.
