Theodore not touring withTMV? 2006-07-28 by astrel | 9 Comments | Much respected drummer of The Mars Volta, Jon Theodore, is not going to be touring with the rest of the band, according to an exerpt from the website Nasty Little Man.
They state that "The Mars Volta cast that performed Amputechture will be modified for live dates that begin imminently, with drummer Jon Theodore replaced by Blake Fleming, formerly of Laddio Bolocko and Dazzling Killmen and actually the drummer who played on the very first Mars Volta demos."
It is not clear if Jon Theodore has quit the band for good, but we can only hope he doesn't.
God also help Blake Fleming, because if he sucks, there will be many enraged fans, possibly carrying pitchforks.

Can anyone actually confirm this? I like the question mark in the title, because it re-affirms this as just a rumor so far.

Judging from what little Killmen stuff I've heard, Fleming isn't a crappy drummer by any means.
It's pretty far removed from TMV though, so how well he'll fill Theodore's shoes is difficult to predict, I guess.
