This was scheduled before the leak, in case anyone thinks they did this just because the album leaked.

At least 4 reviews will be up before the week is over. Obviously.

Does part of the title track's intro remind anyone else of Mr. Bean? lol

the resistance works surprisingly well as an album; it's easy to get turned off by the singles, but it really does deserve a fair listen

Hahaha, no... I just don't like it when people judge albums off of first impressions. I can criticize Muse just as well as I can praise them. And I'll be the first to admit that Uprising is pretty bland and Undisclosed Desires is your typical radio song that the mass media will love. But, all in all, I would rather have an album with some genre variety than all of the same old same old (Three Days Grace).

Really though, it just gets annoying when people declare a song bad because it doesn't have enough guitar. There are other components to songs other than just lots of guitar.

I've streamed the album twice and I think it's pretty fantastic. I'm glad that they didn't stick with the formulaic OKAY LET'S HAVE THIS BIG EPIC CHORUS AND THEN DO SOME WHAMMY EFFECTS that they could have done to please people on this site. The production is top notch and I like the variation of sounds and textures in the songs.

HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS

Fair enough but they could have at least done the OKAY LETS WRITE A GOOD SONG thing that would please just about everybody.

I figured that's what they did with United States of Eurasia. I mean, it's fine if people don't like it, but it's really surreal how people are treating this as some sort of ultimate betrayal. It pretty much sums up how bands shouldn't write music for their audience.

fair play, ESoE owns.

But yeah bands should be writing for their audience, there's not a band in the world who doesn't want people to like their music. The audience doesn't necessarily have to be the mainstream. I can't imagine that the band are totally happy with the album themselves tbh, I know I wouldn't be if I were in their position. And the serious lack of 'OMGZZZZ OUR ALBUM SLAYZZZZ GUYZZZ' sorta suggests to me that they are being careful with this one.

If you're writing for yourself why would you limit your expressions? Unless you're in a fundamentalist church folk group.

I really despise this album

Listened to it over and over, and I can't get into it at all, everything about it sounds forced, like they decided what this record would sound like a while ago without letting it come naturally. So much of it sounds out of place and tacked on and the symphony has no good ideas

I actually liked the direction Black holes was going, but this took it too far and dropped everything that was good

they are only streaming 4 songs. This is the confusion that happens when people get "The Resistance" mixed up with "Resistance" However, tomorrow (thursday) there are PLENTY of sites that are streaming it based on your location in the world. For example USA has a myspace stream. Germany has a laut.de stream and so on.

I agree with HispanicImpressions. This album is awesome, about as good as BH&R. I don't know what you guys' problem with the album is.

I think it's epic.
