This was scheduled before the leak, in case anyone thinks they did this just because the album leaked.

At least 4 reviews will be up before the week is over. Obviously.
Does part of the title track's intro remind anyone else of Mr. Bean? lol
|
| |
Wow, this is pretty bad.
|
| |
Probably 4 reviews by tonight.
|
| |
will check out.
i hope at least exogenesis wont suck...
|
| |
Sputnik is gonna look like a kaleidoscope factory.
|
| |
I'm only getting a full stream of 4 songs?....
|
| |
I hate these sites that require a login to listen . . .
|
| |
This IS pretty bad... well done Muse!
|
| |
Is this the full album? I only see four songs and several thirty second clips...
|
| |
i have a boner for undisclosed desires though.
idk why...
doubt itll have much replay value
|
| |
I read that the full stream goes up tomorrow on some BBC newspaper site
|
| |
fuck you muse. you and your releasing of 4/6 of a song at a time.
|
| |
wheres the guitar? its like non-existant now
|
| |
not tht it was originally all tht interesting. i miss the days of distortion-ridden plug in baby.
|
| |
It's boring so far.....
|
| |
does muse's musical progression remind anyone of idk...
the smashing pumpkins?
|
| |
reminds me more of soulja boy...
|
| |
i thought resistance was a good song. uprising has already grown on me, and i always like united states of eurasia. who knows, i might like this album.
|
| |
goddammit, the synth at the beginning of uprising reminds me of doctor who like crazy
|
| |
Don't worry, the second half of the album makes it worth it.
|
| |
if u say so. from what i heard it wasnt all tht promising.
exogenesis better not suck though.
|
| |
it's really not that bad
it's definitely a grower
|
| |
um, pretty sure i posted this yesterday, but w/e
|
| |
origin of symmetry
bye
|
| |
This was even worse than i expected. Pussy galore.
|
| |
Have had this album since yesterday. Listened about 10 times. I do not care for Muse's other albums. This one is amazing.
|
| |
full album:

|
| |
Every song on the second half is excellent. Don't just listen once and decide it sucks.
|
| |
really dont care about muse
|
| |
ADAMWD are you actually a member of this band you seem to suck their dick constantly and i only ever see you post on muse things
also i cant access the full stream so idk better not be a US thing or anything seeing as theyre BRIT-ISH
|
| |
i had a good stream of it up when i posted my article... took me forever to find, but for some reason it never got posted.
|
| |
black holes and revelations /= adore
the resistance works surprisingly well as an album; it's easy to get turned off by the singles, but it really does deserve a fair listen
|
| |
so yeah this stream isn't really a stream making this article obsolete
|
| |
They are streaming the song "Resistance" now. Not the whole album.
|
| |
Album isn't that bad, stop biting after the non-hyping that's been going on.
It's not great but you know.
|
| |
Not to exited about this tbqh.
|
| |
idk. half of its pretty boring.
|
| |

Hahaha, no... I just don't like it when people judge albums off of first impressions. I can criticize Muse just as well as I can praise them. And I'll be the first to admit that Uprising is pretty bland and Undisclosed Desires is your typical radio song that the mass media will love. But, all in all, I would rather have an album with some genre variety than all of the same old same old (Three Days Grace).
Really though, it just gets annoying when people declare a song bad because it doesn't have enough guitar. There are other components to songs other than just lots of guitar.

I've streamed the album twice and I think it's pretty fantastic. I'm glad that they didn't stick with the formulaic OKAY LET'S HAVE THIS BIG EPIC CHORUS AND THEN DO SOME WHAMMY EFFECTS that they could have done to please people on this site. The production is top notch and I like the variation of sounds and textures in the songs.
HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS

HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS
Glad to see some self-awareness around here.
But I agree with what you said nonetheless.
|
| |
what's up with the miley cyrus, i want my pam back
|

Fair enough but they could have at least done the OKAY LETS WRITE A GOOD SONG thing that would please just about everybody.
HAHAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS

|

idk why, but undisclosed desire reminds me a tad of new u2
i can see myself singing along to it when i see them in october.

I figured that's what they did with United States of Eurasia. I mean, it's fine if people don't like it, but it's really surreal how people are treating this as some sort of ultimate betrayal. It pretty much sums up how bands shouldn't write music for their audience.
|
| |
fair play, ESoE owns.
But yeah bands should be writing for their audience, there's not a band in the world who doesn't want people to like their music. The audience doesn't necessarily have to be the mainstream. I can't imagine that the band are totally happy with the album themselves tbh, I know I wouldn't be if I were in their position. And the serious lack of 'OMGZZZZ OUR ALBUM SLAYZZZZ GUYZZZ' sorta suggests to me that they are being careful with this one.
|
| |
If you're writing for someone there are restrictions and limits.
|
| |
I like this. Be more open minded plz.
Catchy as hell.
|
| |
If you're writing for someone there are restrictions and limits.
Every band writes for someone, even if its for themselves.
|
| |
If you're writing for yourself why would you limit your expressions? Unless you're in a fundamentalist church folk group.
|
| |
I must say, as individual songs....the songs suck..but when you hear them in the sequence of the album...it is immensely more enjoyable
|
| |
United States of Eurasia is pretty awesome. So far this is a 2.5/3 for me
|
| |
Review's up kids. Neg neg neg.
|
| |
I really despise this album
Listened to it over and over, and I can't get into it at all, everything about it sounds forced, like they decided what this record would sound like a while ago without letting it come naturally. So much of it sounds out of place and tacked on and the symphony has no good ideas
I actually liked the direction Black holes was going, but this took it too far and dropped everything that was good
|
| |
How do I listen to it.. The stream is 30 second clips.
|
| |
they are only streaming 4 songs. This is the confusion that happens when people get "The Resistance" mixed up with "Resistance" However, tomorrow (thursday) there are PLENTY of sites that are streaming it based on your location in the world. For example USA has a myspace stream. Germany has a laut.de stream and so on.
|
| |
^^ Do us Brits get a listen?
|
| |
Not sure what you guys are hearing, but from my end this is a great record. Probably not the epic'ness of Origin but it seems to be on par if not better than BlackHoles
|
| |
I agree with HispanicImpressions. This album is awesome, about as good as BH&R. I don't know what you guys' problem with the album is.
I think it's epic.
