Senses Fail Band Update

2006-07-12 by Stormy Smiley Face | 9 Comments
Ultimate-Guitar sat down with drummer Dan Trapp and bassist Mike Glita of Senses Fail and asked them some questions about their new album, entitled "Still Searching", due out in the fall.

There are some key points to the interview. Both members agree that everyone has become better musicians overall and while both say it is somewhat different, it is still Senses Fail. The band's new guitarist, Heath Saraceno, supposedly shreads all over "Still Searching".

Here is a piece of the U-G interview:

Glita: "You'll know it's us, but we branched out a little bit. We definitely worked a lot more with different structures and things like that in the songs."

Trapp: "There's definitely different song structures, different time signatures, stuff like that. You know, because you've got to challenge yourself a little bit. In return, that then challenges the listeners. So it's not just the same crap over and over again. We don't want to do the same thing over and over again. We've been playing the same songs for like four years now and we want to do something a little different but that's still us."

"Still Searching" is due out in the fall , however no set date has been announced (Trapp guesses end of September/early October).

I found myself thinking that I've had enough of SF, but if they show truth with the chance I might have to pick up the album.

I thought Let It Enfold You was better than the EP *shrug*

The two new tracks they played at warped are INSANE. The new guitarist is a brilliant vocalist and guitar player, so they music is alot better. This is probably going to be a contender for best album of 2006, IMO.

Can't wait. Link too the better of the 2 songs (Bonecrusher, the other being Crash Your Plane Into A Barn) :

I liked the ep alot. And I liked Let It Enfold You alot. LIEY is more polished and flows better though.
I'm looking foward to the new release, as I should be.

For me the EP sucks hard, but "Let It Enfold You" is awesome. Can't wait for the new album to come out.
