Jane's Addiction XXL Oz Tour

2009-07-23 by DaveyBoy EMERITUS | 18 Comments
Jane's Addiction, who have just returned from the European leg of their first world tour in more than 17 years, will no longer be touring Australia and performing at this weekend's Splendour in the Grass festival.

Percussionist Stephen Perkins noticed "severe swelling and pain building in his elbow" upon returning from Europe. He has been admitted into the Infectious Disease Ward at Cedar's-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

Lead singer Perry Farrell said, "I know how excited we were to come play in Australia, and how long the fans there have waited for this. I want everyone Down Under to know that we will come back as soon as we can."

The Living End will fill in for Jane's Addiction at the 2 day festival, which is headlined by Bloc Party & The Flaming Lips.

Maybe it's untrue & they got paid more to do Big Day Out.

Wouldnt surprise me, probably the only reason they are touring again, for funds.

That was actually a bit tongue-in-cheek, but things could fall into place to see them there now.

I was reading some rumours for BDO yesterday and if at least half of them come off, then it could be very very good come 2010.

I'd love to see them, but the with Splendor line up being as awesome as it is, it's not tooo big of a blow.

Old Janes addiction kicked ass. I hope the new album w/ Trent Reznor is awesome.

Nah man, I wish I was, that line up is beyond epic. It's just that I got a press email from Splendor saying that JA weren't coming at the same time I saw this new post, heh.

Dougie, I think there are still tix for Manchester Orchestra's show in Melb & they're pretty cheap. $35 from memory. Although, my money is going to Anberlin & The Academy Is... in 4 weeks time.
