Not so very excited about new title - it's too obvious and simple.

Well, it's Katatonia. They've essentially put out the same record for the past 9 years.

Really excited about this. They've improved with virtually every album and The Great Cold Distance is their best in my opinion. Can they better it? Doubtful. Can they still put out an awesome record? Undoubtedly.

They're so dark and depressing all the time, but I love them dearly. Excited for this.

How? They're all melancholic doom rock with little to no progression/variety. They are good though.

^ I agree. All the songs sound the same. However, the song is basically good so it's ok.

Ah, I get what yer saying but I think if ye compare Dance of December Souls to The Great Cold Distance you'll find they have evolved a little at least

For some reason I think they're going to make a pretty big jump this time around.

Dance Of December Souls was pretty shiity. I agree though, they really just hit their stride with The Great Cold Distance. Let's hope they dont get lazy like Killswitch and release something half assed. 3 years better be justified. Also, Jonas sings on a new song from Pantheon I, cello black metallers with provacative band pics.

The song Pantheon I put out for a movie, I forgot what it's called is pretty awesome. New album should be vastly greater than their last one which was alright.

Last Fair Deal Down is their best album. The Great Cold Distance it too repetitive.

What a pathetic album title, yet somehow fitting Katatonias image... Though in many respects quite similar, yet quite distinct within their own boundaries, all their last three records have been more or less great from start-to-finish. They will open for Porcupine Tree this fall, which could be a good combination - that the heaviest band opens isn't necessarily that good an idea in general, but this wouldn't be to Katatonia's disadvantage anyway.

You guys are ****ing crazy. The Great Cold Distance is nowhere near their best. Brave Murder Day, Last Fair Deal Gone Down, and Dance of December Souls slay it in every way imaginable. The Great Cold Distance has way too much Tool dry-humping to be likeable.

I Am Nothing is one of their best songs overall so at least get that. probaly not as in depth of solid songs as Viva Emptieness but T.D boasts a few real killers.
