Swamp metal band Blacktusk have posted their plans for 2009 on their Myspace page Feb. 2.

"Here's what we've been up to lately.....

After our disastrous tour with Valient Thorr (those guys rule!!!!!), thank you Mr. Transmission for blowing that one, we have taken some time off from touring to write some new material. We have several split releases and a new album coming out this year, plus a bitchin tour in March with our buddies Skeletonwitch and Kylesa. Its called the Southern Discomfort tour and its going to rule!!!! The dates are posted here and our website (www.blacktuskterror.com)

our upcoming releases are as follows:

Blacktusk / Holy Mountain split 7" on No Idea Records (http://www.noidearecords.com/). It is currently available on itunes, look for the vinyl soon! It features cover art by John Baizley (Baroness) and was produced by Philip Cope (Kylesa).

Blacktusk / ASG split 10" on Hyperrealist records (www.hyperrealist.com). Both bands head up to the Jam Room in Columbia, SC to record this in the beginning of March with Philip Cope (Kylesa) producing. There will be a cd version of this also, details on that are still being worked out. It will also feature cover art and layout by John Baizley (Baroness)

Blacktusk / Fight Amputation split 7" on Brutal Panda Records (http://www.brutalpandarecords.com/). We are also recording this material at the beginning of March at the Jam room with Philip Cope (Kylesa) producing. This release will also sport artwork from John Baizley (Baroness).

Philip and John are listed in our friends list, check out their work!

We are also contributing a song to a Buzzov-en tribute album on Sleepy Village Records (www.myspace.com/buzzoventributealbum) We are doing Toe Fry. Not sure when this is going to come out. I'll keep this sited updated with news about it.

Also, at some point this year we will release a second full length album on Hyperrealist records. We have written a little more than half of the material for this LP. It had to get put on hold while we wrote songs for the upcoming split releases.

Once again we are going to be performing at the South by Southwest music festival as part of the Tone Deaf Touring showcase (www.tonedeaftouring.com). The show will be at Red 7 in Austin TX, Friday, Mar 20th. The line-up is

as follows: Skeletonwitch, Kylesa, Rwake, Black Tusk, Dixie Witch, and

Warship. Its going to be a killer show!"
