Hehe Fall Out Boy and Maroon 5

horrible horrible list.
fall out boy? maroon 5? wolfmother? brand new?? wtf?
and vampire weekend has only released one album, yet they are on a list of the best bands of the entire decade?

I can agree with Arcade Fire and Brand New. The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, FOB, and Vampire Weekend are solid but nowhere near the best.

The Strokes, lol. I remember liking them obsessively.This Message Edited On 03.17.08

I hate this list...

TMV, Brand New, and Arcade Fire are all pretty great, but the rest of the choices bewilder me.
|
| |
Stupidest list ever. It was like the list was trying to be eclectic, but by doing so became totally retarded.

random order:
AFI
Protest The Hero
Linkin Park(merely for the fact that they changed mainstream a lot)
Protest The Hero
Killswitch Engage
The Mars Volta
Muse
Incubus
Arcade Fire

Wow... just wow. Half these bands are like flashes in the pan...
|

I especially lol'd at the formula for Wolfmother
1/2 LZ + 1/4 BS + 1/8 tWS + 1/8 PF = 1 Wm
LZ = Led Zeppelin
BS = Black Sabbath
tWS = The White Stripes
PF = Pink Floyd
Wm = Wolfmother

Vampire Weekend? didn't they debut like last week?
|
| |
This list hurt me.

The Decemberists rule.

If this is what we got for best modern rock bands of this decade...God help us all, to have fall out boy in the top ten just sickens me, Arcade Fire and The Strokes are both solid bands (though I don't think they would be near the top of this list) but its all about perspective, I mean fall out boy and maroon 5 are only on the list because they pleased a lot of 16-year-old high school girls (IMO), but seriously there is so much better music out there these days that is being overlooked.
P.S. most of the current bands out there that I think should be on this list formed before the turn of the century (which would exclude bands like Radiohead, Muse, Thrice, Incubus, and others)

I really like Brand New and The Strokes, but the rest of the bands are pretty meh.
|

you know the term "rock" has utterly lost all meaning when it's used like this, as a catch-all to describe corporate emo, autotuned pop and pencil-neck indie. i've seen kittens rock out harder than the arcade fire. at least behind the tsunami of hype the strokes had a few good tunes.

I completly agree oon Brand New, but the Arcade Fire are overrated. The list is pretty crumpy, like whats up with Maroon 5?

ace list!

This list is useless.
