Hell yeah
| |
Worst band of all time.
| |
periphery is much worse agreed
| |
[2]
| |
Both bottom of the barrel agreed.
| |
i hope this rules but that is one cheesy ass tracklist lmao
| |
This is actually pretty fucking good.
| |
En Vos Confió
| |
beautifully human is the most live laugh love ass track title ever but i know it will rip 😮💨
| |
So funky.. great song
| |
Hawks showing up in every BTBAM thread to trash talk this band is probably my favorite long running joke on this site
| |
can not wait for a day 1 Hawks review of this
| |
don't encourage him
| |
Hahahahahaha
| |
First two comments on a thread about new BTBAM are "hell yeah" and "worst band of all time". Never change Sput
| |
I enjoyed it! Not a mindblowing track or anything but it was fun for what it was.
| |
Pretty dope track, but I hope the album displays a mix of their old and new sound.
| |
I'm just gonna reiterate what I said in the discord:
"Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark" doesn't even sound like a BTBAM title. Sounds like it should be a teen horror flick or something
| |
There’s a Sputnik discord??
| |
Only if u know the passcode to get into the treehouse
| |
did these guys just discover mr bungle or what
| |
bruh they've been bungle influenced since colors especially lol
| |
Besides the aesthetic comparison, I felt like Coma Ecliptic was still searching *a little bit* -- this is entirely to0 se1f-awar3 for its own good (been like that since Automata tho, so?)
| |
i wouldn't know sorry i don't listen to pr0gcore :P but this in particular is more bungly than anything else i've heard from them.
| |
i like their classic era but I couldn't listen to this for more than a minute. dreadful stuff
| |
Same. The mindless guitar wanking got old after the Great Misdirect. Shame because Colors is one of my favorite albums but they're not the same band anymore.
| |
Haken added screams, thats so cool.
| |
I think it's pretty great. I love their classic era, but certainly don't need them to release another record in that style. I like they're leaning heavily into their Bungle influence here, they could go even harder down that direction tbh. Because, yeah, a lot of this sounds very Haken-esque.
| |
Looking forward to this. Haven't actually listened to them for a long ass time. Might change that today and spin an album of theirs... or two.
| |
I like it. I think my BTBAM session finally begins
| |
"did these guys just discover mr bungle or what"
bro where have you been the past eighteen years
| |
Rules
| |
Better than I expected. Song's kinda cool actually.
| |
Diet haken. Band has fallen off so hard since parallax. Also with the aesthetics going with this release, THATS the artwork we wound up with? Ew.
| |
lmao implying parallax was any good
| |
Implying anyone cares about your shit ass taste
| |
BTBAM's always been a band that attracts dilusional crybabies and godawful edgelord purists. yall can pathetically 1, 2 or 3 this but the monolithic avrg withstands any pitiful trolling attempt out of sheer ignorance. no ones gonna remember u anyway
| |
if they insist on going the retro prog route i hope it sticks to this style and not the slower plodding style on coma or tracks like the grid or turbulent from the last two albums. this is way better
| |
Pika you should learn to spell before pontificating to people. Also, “you” is a pretty short word, abbreviating it just makes you sound like a child.
| |
This sounds like if Bill Wurtz wrote a BTBAM song. I like it.
| |
“i like their classic era but I couldn't listen to this for more than a minute. dreadful stuff” [3]
This is so bad. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. You can do classic prog well but this ain’t it. This is like shitty dad prog Haken lite as was said earlier
@Coma - pika was posting copypasta
| |
damn this is so good, BTBAM in 2025!
| |
How is this "so bad" lmao, what am I missing
| |
That cover art is so rough ufffff
| |
Wow this is fucking awful and I say that as someone who’s a pretty big fan of the band. These guys are always at their worst when they turn the “zany” factor up to 10 and this song almost feels entirely like that with the 80s synths / xylophone stuff nonstop.
| |
I think this is supposed to be a sort of follow up in the vein of Coma Ecliptic. Its a hard sell
| |
“Wow this is fucking awful and I say that as someone who’s a pretty big fan of the band. These guys are always at their worst when they turn the “zany” factor up to 10 and this song almost feels entirely like that with the 80s synths / xylophone stuff nonstop.”
Bingo. They literally turned all of their weird goofy stuff into an 8 minute song. Awful
| |
while i certainly dig this side of them... it does irk me when i see them live and the mosh pit starts for voice of trespass but not the actual breakdowns
| |
I can only imagine the goofballs that see this band live
| |
I saw these guys live (with Veil of Maya?) 5+ years ago and they were the headline show. I felt kind of bad because literally 70% of the crowd left after Veil and the vibe was honestly just kind of ruined after that.
| |
This is fucking weird and is way too long tbh
| |
Nice of them to do something a little different I guess.
| |
Saw them live once and the vocals were horrible, as I expected. Them and David Maxim Micic (who was cool as fuck) opened for Animals As Leaders if I remember correctly. Instrumentally a fun band but they were a bit too chaotic for the show anyway. Perhaps Plini was there as well but could have been another show, not sure anymore.
| |
^I've seen them live 3 times, vocals were shot at one of those shows but excellent during the others. Guessing he just rides them a bit hard, tends to give a poorer showing after consecutive shows or near the end of tours?
| |
Always excited for new BTBAM because they're a damn consistent band, but this song was so-so for me. Too zany, maybe too much clean singing as well for my tastes for this band.
| |
Idk, this song seems pretty fun overall, but I agree that it's weird to have this as an opener. I would expect it to sit somewhere comfortably in the middle of the album--like how their single "Fix The Error" for Colors II was.
Dan Briggs must be shouldering a lot of the song writing duties now days: this style has his fingerprints all over it. Not a bad thing though, in my opinion!
| |
this is going to be their worst album ever.
| |
And that's saying something because all of their albums are just god awful.
| |
Alaska 2 when?
| |
It’s sordid
It’s boring
Also this shit ass ai slop music video pisses me off. Btbam could afford to hire a few people to make a mv. Fuck all of this.
| |

| |
Omg you are sooooo funny Hawks please stop XD
| |
Hawks, I love old btbam but I’ll be right there shit talking this latest embarrassment with you.
But freal idk how you don’t fux with mordecai, selkies, or silent flight parliament
| |
this song sounds like the Dear Hunter lol
| |
Pure crap!
| |
@Comatorium In fairness to BTBAM, it seems they did hire a studio to make the video; the studio is credited in the video description. Not saying the video is necessarily good or not AI, but they did pay someone to make it for them.
