Another excellent drummer gone...
I met you, man. You handed me me your sticks and thanked me for coming to your show on a night I'll remember forever.
You and Paul let everyone in the community know it is okay to be different, no matter how hard the road.
A bright light has gone out.
This one really hurts.
This is terribly gutting. Sean was one of my favorite drummers and Cynic one of my favorite bands. Almost unbelievable, given how young he was. He will be missed...
Rip. Dude was a legend
Digging: Terra Firma (SWE) - Harms Way
excellent drummer. RIP
Digging: Grave - Into the Grave
You have got to be fucking kidding, fuck
As a massive Cynic and Death fan, this hits extremely hard.
Oh man that's so saddening
Honestly crying a bit. He's much younger than both of my parents. How the fuck could this have happened?
this sucks big, he was an amazing drummer. RIP
True beast behind the kit. RIP.
48. Fuck. Rip.
Digging: Jonny L - Magnetic
Digging: Tokenai Namae - Seifuku Kanro Club
This is bullshit
Holy shit. I just discovered Cynic last year with the remix and they became one of my favorite bands ever. Reinert was my favorite member, and as a drummer has become a huge inspiration to me. Absolute genius.
RIP. God this one hurts...
Legend drummer, this sucks.
Lol at this dickhead talking about politics
Holy shit stfu
Hey man I’m just trying to squeeze a couple good c/p out of him for you before this thread gets nuked
Am for real very sad about this though, Sean is very inspiring as both a musician and as an open gay man in a genre of music that generally is not very welcoming to it. Really hope it doesn’t come to light that he took his own life
Someone needs to immortalize the amusement
On a side note its already kicking off as a year for loss in musicians. This guy, Neil Peart and Nile' s former bassist in like a 3 week span. Crazy man.
Man first Neil Peart and now this. RIP Sean. Danny Carey must be protected at all costs with how this year is going
Saw today that TMV’s bass player is in a coma too after a bike accident, shit is just not letting up so far.
Checking Focus tonight in memoriam, hard RIP
Digging: Scott Lavene - Broke
His playing on that record is honestly mind blowing.
gonna jam Human tonight.
Digging: Little Big League - Tropical Jinx
Focus/TIA have some of the best prog metal drumming ever
I’ve never heard Human, time to check that...
2020 is going to be one of those years
Jamming with Chuck in the afterlife.
=( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =( =(
Neil, Terry Jones, and Sean so close together is the biggest fuck ever
what a horrible loss. so sad
such a huge RIP
NOOOOOOOO WTF MAN
Fucking-a man this sucks. RIP.
way too young, RIP
Digging: Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats - Unlocked
Way too young, RIP. Two legendary drummers gone in so short a time, protect Danny Carey at all costs as someone said.
Digging: Tame Impala - The Slow Rush
Holy shit, this sucks. Another legendary drummer died this year. Rest in power Sean.
Wait, what. rip
Digging: Sutrah (CAN) - Aletheia
I saw Cynic live twice, he was an incredibly gifted drummer and the whole band seemed like really good people. This sucks.
damn... absolutely phenomenal musician. one of the greatest to ever do it.
Too young to die, RIP Sean. His performance in Lack of Comprehension is timeless
Digging: Blaze of Perdition - The Harrowing of Hearts
There was an era where only Focus, Human and the Gordian Knot albums were allowed to spin on my decks...
Digging: Nightfear (ESP) - Apocalypse
Fuck you 2020, stop killing great drummers.
Too soon... R.I.P.
Way too soon
Digging: Envy - The Fallen Crimson
Metal has its powerhouses like Gene Hoglan, and death metal is generally filled with impressive drummers who can play at the mindbending speeds necessary to keep up with the riffs, but Reinart really was monolithic. He could effortlessly play as fast and as heavy as Hoglan, but he also brought all of the style, musicality, and the spirit of jazz percussion towards his playing. The performances on Human, Focus, and Traced in Air really deserve the same sense of veneration as Peart's work gets within the realm of rock music, and it is such a fucking blow to have lost both of them in the same month.
such an incredible drummer, huge loss
This one hurts so bad, one my favourite metal drummers gone.
The world has lost an unmatchable talent, what an inspiration he was.
Fuck. He was such an immense talent. RIP hard.
what the fuck. RIP
Sad, sad news, RIP.
Fuck, this sucks. Another legend gone. RIP Sean.
Heard of this yesterday. My favorite drummer, and the person who inspired me to get into music fully. Rest in peace.
Digging: Regis - Adolescence: The Complete Recordings 1994-2001
Terrible. His beats with Cynic was some of the finest skin work of all time
'Human' is a huge part of my musical upbringing as was 'focus' And this one is a real hard RIP. gutted.
This is pretty shitty. The reason I've fallen down the extreme metal rabbit hole is explicitly this website, specifically the review for Traced in Air, and then a lot of me latching onto that was Sean's drumming. So young too. So much talent.
man wth, it just goes from bad to worse. RIP
RIP. Such an amazing and talented human. Lucky I got to see him a few times live
Just watched that video he put up a while back of him demolishing evolutionary sleeper. So insane. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J5vagx9V050
My actual favourite drummer. I'm so sad.
Digging: Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats - Unlocked
we just lost REED MULLIN too.
Btw anyone who hasn't listed to Aghora, LISTEN TO FUCKING AGHORA.
This is why:
2020's been a shit year so far w/many drummers I've admired and respected passing away. :/
Good job 2020
always admired his style and was lucky enough to see Cynic live a while back.
2020 fucking blows
Digging: Circa Survive - The Amulet
Damn. I love Cynic and the drumming he did for Death. RIP.
