Meh. We didn’t need a ballad song on this album because it ruins some of the mood.
We also already have a song like this one “Dear Father” which is way better lyrically and vocally... This also sounds painfully average. Hype has watered down for me...

These guys are historically really bad at slow songs and this is certainly no exception

I can't take their music videos seriously but the first 2 singles they dropped before this were pretty good - definitely a throwback vibe to Does this Look Infected-era Sum 41

“Out for Blood” was good. “A death in the family” was amazing.
Hoping the rest of the album holds strong.

I'm surprised no article was presented on this website about their song "A Death in the Family". THAT song rules...it sounds like something you'd hear off of Chuck. Truthfully, it's my favorite Sum 41 song since anything from "Chuck"...and I enjoyed their last album. The new song is the obligatory ballad song that Sum 41 likes to put on each album, and this one (while still just alright) is better than their last album's effort called "War".

Amen to that Confined!! “A Death in the Family” sounded like a Chuck song! I loved the lyrics and dark tone in it as well.

Lmao I agree. After second listening, this song pretty much blows.

I remember a song from way back, 'Some Say'. Always liked that one back in the day.
This track however is really bland. Everything after Underclass Hero never stuck to me.

It's Dear Father but way worse. Cool. Death in the family slaps btw.

@ShadowNeko - I'm kind of worried that "A Death In the Family" will end up being the best track from the new album. Which is just fine, just as long as the other tracks match the quality (or close to) of it. But, by the way things are going right now...not sure.

Best Single so far for me. Loved all of 13 Voices but first two singles have just been ok.
