New Hatari single 2019-05-24 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 9 Comments | Icelandic award winning anti-capitalist techno BDSM performance art collective Hatari, who caused controversy with their pro-Palestinian protests at last week's Eurovision Song Contest in Tel-Aviv, Israel, have today released a new single featuring the Palestinian pop singer Bashar Murad. The song, "Klefi / Samed", sung in both Icelandic and Arabic, criticises the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory.
The European Broadcasting Union, which organises the Eurovision Song Contest, has condemned Hatari's protest on the night, where they waved Palestinian banners as the final scores were announced (Iceland finished 10th, their highest for a number of years). Both they and Madonna (who also commented on the conflict despite being warned not to) have yet to receive punishment from the EBU, but Hatari do run the risk of disqualification.

| | | love the two songs I heard from them, great sound, albeit a bit gimmicky
| | | @Faded Sun that is verbatim how they describe themselves.
| | | Saw someone compare this to the KLF today. I can sort of see how Hatari's very public and very controversial antics could be influenced by them.
| | | This bands existence makes me so happy.
| | | i like everything they've done so far
| | | Man I've occasionally seen this aggressively pro-Israel blog going into complete meltdown over these guys, and they posted one article yesterday claiming they had some big revelation that the members of Hatari are sons of lawyers and the Icelandic Ambassador to the UK - even though it's been on Wikipedia for months.
