New Counterparts Song

2013-06-12 by Trebor. EMERITUS | 35 Comments
Counterparts have released the first song from their upcoming album The Difference Between Hell And Home, which is due for release on July 23rd. The song, entitled 'Wither', sounds like a mix of the band's first two records, with melody and structure similar to The Current Will Carry Us, and a breakdown that hearkens back to Prophets.

'Wither' can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os7fk5DAupg

Did not really dig the breakdown. Other than that, great song. Stoked!

Not bad. I really hope this album is good. Prophets was a great slab of well-executed metalcore and The Current Will Carry Us was amazing on a completely personal level.

These guys are ok but this sounds like a less coherent version of a Taken song.

This works.

Sounds pretty decent; some good guitar work. I'll totally agree that the breakdown is unneeded tho. Also, on this link,
the band that follows counterparts seems to tear shit up pretty good.

Song is okay. The breakdown is totally forced though, doesn't flow like the songs on Prophets.

@Apollo, seeing as they only have two albums, I might as well show you a song from both and you can decide for your own. Prophets has more of a metalcore, Misery Signal-ish sound while The Current is more melodic hardcore oriented.

Prophets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGw8A7Zg4kE

The Current: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJEyEdvGQGA

sound aside, The Current has lyrics that are extremely introspective, so if you're into that, definitely check the album out
