meh
| |
awesome!!!
| |
I´m way excited!!
| |
i'd rather porcupine tree news. i haven't been able to get into any of his solo stuff. gonna give grace for drowning a spin later on though. since everyone jerks off to it. give it another go.
| |
This guy should really get some time off.
| |
Another one already?
| |
he must never sleep
| |
he needs a hobby. like golf or something.
| |
Music is his hobby
| |
He needs to get laid
| |
he's laid lotsa times. you wouldnt know her. met her at niagara falls.
| |
Not this guy again
| |
will be average
| |
This guy is a peniswrinkle. Who cares about that shit?
| |
I heard Luminol live - it was actually really good. The entire concert was phenomenal. I don't mind how prolific he is as long as he continues to put out this quality.
| |
lol @tarkus
i'd like to know your opinion of no-man, oh wait...let me guess, average?
| |
ever since steven wilson stopped taking acid hes been average
| |
Stupid Porcupine Tree hiatus.
| |
Good stuff. His solo output has been much better than recent PT.
| |
I love Steven Wilson as much as the next guy, but....actually nevermind, I just love the guy.
| |
I just love the guy [2]
| |
Should be good, but damn; he's always working on something isn't he?
| |
Steven Wilson is great. Saw him in Malmö with about 200 people. The best and most intimate concert ever!
| |
he should start getting laid again cos he's been ultra boring ever since he stopped
| |
acid and other drugs yeah
| |
yea
| |
I love him and all, but please, he needs some sleep.
| |
grace for drowning was awesome. steven wilson > porcupine tree. i'd be happy if he quit his band and just went fully solo.
| |
he should just stick to remastering king crimson albums
| |
steven wilson > porcupine tree
lol
| |
Luminol was pretty damn good, and the live show was the best I've ever seen. No doubt his 3rd solo will slay. I hope he gets gavin again though, Minneman and France are good, but no one does it like gavin.
| |
yeah no one says i cant be more boring than gavin
| |
officially geeking out now
it sounds like Steven Wilson is implying that it will be better then Grace for Drowning.
| |
steven wilson > porcupine tree
won't argue with this. i mean, Insurgentes and Grace are better than everything PT has released from In Absentia onwards, at the very least.
| |
Minneman > Gavin
| |
Yeah it doesn't bother me at all that a new Porcupine Tree album is nowhere in sight, as long as his solo material keeps kicking ass. I've heard the new song, so not even the PT fanboy in me is upset.
| |
In June 2012, Wilson re-emphasized his continued focus on his solo career, with his answer to the question "...is (there) a danger that Porcupine Tree might fall by the wayside?" being "The honest answer is I don’t know. The solo career for me now is probably the most important. I think about it more than anything else, I’m more focused on it than anything else, I enjoy it more than anything else..."[57] While he still said that he still "want(s) to get Porcupine Tree back together at some point", he conceded that he isn't sure what direction he wants to take the band, only that he's tired of metal music."[58]
i'm okay with this.
| |
he needs to go back to ripping off pink floyd
| |
New PT please.
| |
Nice, but it's been a long time since PT put out something new.
| |
Omg...man c'monnnnn DO SUMTHIN WITH PORCUPINNNEE TREEEEE
fuck
| |
Wilson seriously needs to hang it all up and retire. The guy fucking sucks ass and has successfully pulled Akerfeldt down with him.
| |
"Wilson seriously needs to hang it all up and retire. The guy fucking sucks ass and has successfully pulled Akerfeldt down with him."
no, Akerfeldt has been influenced by Wilson since before Still Life. Heritage was indeed a wrong turn, but not Wilson's fault by any means.
| |
Either way, Porcupine Tree still rules.
| |
Steven Wilson gets better with each album. So much hate on here...
| |
No, he doesn't. And putting albums out like Korpiklaani doesn't help it.
I usually hate that phrase but Wilson really does need to 'get a life'.
| |
Steve-o Wilson doesn't need a life. you all need lives. releasing lots of albums must be therapeutic for him or a way to express himself. And it's gonna be interesting, experimental music so why can't he do what he wants? why don't you all go listen to Attack Attack or something haha
| |
loved Grace of Drowning but another one already?
| |
get your yawning faces ready
| |

You do realize the "no you!" has not been a valid argument since 4th grade, even on the internet.
| |
If this is as enjoyable as Insurgentes, I'm all over it!
| |
meh [2]
| |
Also, all the solo albums in such a short time, he's turning into freakin' Devin Townsend...except, y'know, not as good..
| |
all you pale faced metal-head jerkwads keep stewing on the internet about how much stuff sucks, we'll have another PT album yet!
| |
A) It's 'metalhead'.
B) You're an idiot.
C) Calling everyone who says Wilson sucks or he's getting worse a metalhead is just plain retarded.
D) You're an idiot.
E) Using musical affinity as insult discredits any argumentative credibility.
F) You're an idiot.
| |
Nah.
Early PT >>> Wilson's solo stuff.
| |
Not only did you fail to grasp my point, you also invented a few illogical ones and attributed them to me. Don't do that.
| |
Everyone talks about Steven Wilson needing to 'get a life' or stop making music, but yet no one says anything about Buckethead.
| |
plus the steven wilson is slowing down with writing new music. It's not like he's in 5 other bands, he respectively got it down to his solo career now.
| |
"at least steven wilsons solo stuff is way better than porcupine tree holy fucking shit is that band ever awful"
that's the last straw potato, imma mash yo ass now
| |
at least steven wilsons solo stuff is way better than porcupine tree holy fucking shit is that band ever awful
well you still havent listened to the good pt stuff so until then
shut your boat bitch
| |
Yeah tbh I enjoyed Porcupine Tree most before they signed to Lava Records. "The Sky Moves Sideways" is a great album, everyone seems to forget they even did anything before God damn In Absentia though.
| |
Signify and The Sky Moves Sideways are really good, but their latest releases are equally good even though they sound different.
| |
"Everyone talks about Steven Wilson needing to 'get a life' or stop making music, but yet no one says anything about Buckethead."
That's because Buckethead isn't getting worse.
Buckethead, has been releasing mindless jibber-jabber since the conception of his solo career. Granted most of his work is 50/50.
| |
SW is alright but would prefer more PT. Interesting to see what he comes up with next though, couldn't really get into his last.
| |
He is turning into the Damon Albarn of prog. So much self-indulgence and experimentation, leaving his old stuff behind.
| |
Heritage was all Akerfeldt.
I was talking about Storm Corrosion. I obviously know he played a huge part influencing Opeth in the direction they've gone with their past 5 albums but look at where that all went. He influenced them to go straight prog (I bet Akerfeldt was working on material for Storm Corrosion during the Heritage sections).
| |
Grace for Drowning, Heritage, and astorm Corrosion were all written, recorded, and mixed during the same time, hence why they're considered the Odd album triology. SC was released n a different time because they both thought they could support SC together after supporting their other stuff.
| |
Great news! Fuck te haters
| |
the "odd album trilogy" is garbage
| |
