I'll have to try harder next time. Anyway, awesome song
| |
The chorus is good, but other than that Prove Me Right was a better song. This will grow on me though.
| |
Sturgis will be the end of creativity. Band writes some cool riffs but are just so damn cliche. Flooded with breakdowns too. Which make any good riff nothing once you follow it with a stupid ass breakdown.
| |
This is pretty good, better then Prove Me Right.
| |
"Sturgis will be the end of creativity."
Except this isn't produced by Sturgis.
| |
Their guitarist Kellen produced it.
| |
With Cameron Mizell.
| |
yes.
| |
Chorus is the best part, the constant breakdowns are a bit much though.
Vocals are great.
| |
The Hollow was epic
| |
yeah it was. very haunting.
| |
Hollow was crap.
| |
the vices

the the
| |
I will admit, I am not a fan of unoriginal song titles.
| |
2007 ep was killer. Sleepwalking was poor and the hollow was A very decent step in the right direction. Good song.
| |
Hollow sounded like every other scene band. Thought it was woe is me for a bit when I first heard it. But this band has better vocals than those hacks in woe is me
| |
Yep, definitely has a killer chorus, and that high note he hits near the end is pretty sweet too
| |
Guitar playing is pretty damn boring but the vox are so fucking good I hardly care. Chorus sooo catchy.
| |
They have much better songwriting too, and incorporate electronica elements very ell. Plus, Matty is a hell of a singer. Sleepwalking was good, but nowhere near what they've become
| |
As good as you can have when your main sound is breakdowns. Many of these bands are quite good with instruments but just play the songs that make jailbait happy.
| |
Chugga Chugga choo choo!!!!
| |
I'm getting so tired of breakdowns.
Chorus was really good though, and I loved The Hollow, so I may end up liking it.
| |
Great song. Pleasantly surprised.
| |
new of mice & men song released tomorrow. will surely suck with Austin doing cleans. You would think they should just go ahead and make joel piper new clean singer
| |
Why is this band in the Punk section of Sputnik?
| |
I don't understand how this band gets so much respect here while Asking Alexandria gets so much hate. I like both of them, but my point is that the difference between both is minimal (slightly better vocals and lyrics and that's it).
This song is meh. The chorus and the little bridge section (where they do something else than a breakdown) were good but the rest was boring. I liked Prove Me Right better.
| |
Yeah i agree peartnoy this new stuff is just as shitty as Asking Alexandria
ep was great tho
| |
yeah the cleans are great.
| |
Talented musicians yeah maybe, but to say have more substance than AA not that much.
| |
On a side note have you guys watched their studio updates? Freaking Hilarious hahaha
| |
Sweet chorus.
| |
The song structure and everything about it wants me to say it's generic but that song was very enjoyable.
| |
both Mizell and sturgis ruin everything they produce.
| |
Sturgis just adds too many bells & whistles, it makes you wonder if the band even played any of it. The Flood, even while overproduced came out alright.
| |
Nice song, but I prefered Prove Me Right
| |
^ this
| |
What's wrong with the screams?
| |
standard MMF, catchy, good vocals but a bit generic. I still enjoyed it nevertheless
| |
Cool song
| |
Better than Prove Me Right. Loving the Chorus.
| |
too much chug chug chug but the vocals are legit
| |
Yeah I'm loving the vox
| |
DANCING WITH THE HEAT FROM YOOOOOOUR EAR AGAINST MINE
| |
I am the only one that misses their Sleepwalking southern sound? I'm disinterested in the Risecore they make now. It's
enjoyable, yet very forgetful.
| |
I'm I the only one who realizes that they still have their southern sound in their current music?
| |
Perhaps I can't hear it over all the glitchy electronic sounds and vocal distortions, but I haven't heard any riffs comparable to 'North Atlantic vs North Carolina' or 'Youre Lucky Its Not 1692'.
| |
Well it's less prominent in their riffs, but it's still there
| |
Awesome song, but if I was them I would reduce the breakdowns and add some epic riffing or leads or something. The Hollow had the perfect balance of everything in every song, but these new ones have a bit too many breakdowns. Not as good as anything on The Hollow (I don't get how anyone dislikes the album, it's easily the best album ever from this metalcore scene in my books) but still great stuff and I'm sure it will grow on me a lot as I hear the full album!
| |
@BonRurgundy
Absolutely. They lost their southern sound IDK wtf Strider is talking about.
| |
This band sucks so much.
| |
That song was enjoyable.
| |
Strider is right, the southern edge is still there just not as prominent
| |
Catchy song, album should be fun.
| |
This is better than the first song but im still not overly impressed. Catchy chorus though.
| |
So many breakdowns @_@
| |
I actually liked OM&M release a little more than this...
| |
^ Instrumentally it blows this out of the water, fun track. These vocals still have me hooked though, OM&M's vocalist is just okay imo.
| |
I've never really like OM&M but that new song sounded like a bad Slipknot impersonation imo.
| |
dont like both of those bands
| |
Yea, I usually have a really high breakdown tolerance, but I got really annoyed at the last two breakdowns in this. We'll see what grows though.
| |
Definitely better than the last song, but they can still do better.
| |
The thing that will always bother me about MMF is that they play so far below their potential. Matty carries this band in my opinion. The drumming is pretty cool at times, but the guitarists only have a few good moments, and we all know they can do better than that.
If they had a lesser vocalist I probably wouldn't even bother with them.
| |
also like this bands EP but don't care for this band much
| |
generic as hell verses, but pretty decent chorus. can't say i'll be interested in hearing this album, still.
| |
Memphis May Fire and Attack Attack don't belong in the same sentence. I broke my own rule.
| |
Way to bring something new to music MMF /sarcasm
Really boring song in my opinion.
| |
"Asking Alexandria shouldn't even be placed in the same realm as Memphis May Fire. AA are just catchy and fun and don't have substance (simply because they drink too much substance), MMF are serious talented musicians, especially in the vocal department."
Asking Alexandria's vocalist does guest vocals on one of the tracks just sayin.
| |
i thought this sucked
| |
im getting scared that this will be much worse than The Hollow
| |
ASnideRemark, don't forget the drummer and Morte Et Dabo...then that's about it lol...
| |
lol
