Luca Turilli's Rhapsody

2012-04-28 by simonpettersen | 9 Comments
Last year on August 16th it was announced by Itallian power metal act Rhapsody of Fire that they saw departure of long-time guitarist, song-writer and founding member Luca Turilli, along with bassist Patrice Guers.

Reason for the split was due to musical difference between founding members Alex Staropoli (keyboardist) and Turilli. Staropoli agreed to continiue as Rhapsody of Fire while Turilli decided to move on as Rhapsody (the original band name), adding his name on top of the logo because of copyright reasons and old legal settlements.

The debut album of Luca Turilli's Rhapsody called "Ascending to Infinity" is set to be released on Jule 22, 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records. On May 3rd Rhapsody will release the video for their debut single " Dark Fate of Atlantis".

"Ascending to Infinity track list:

1. Quantum X

2. Ascending to Infinity

3. Dante's Infero

4. Excalibur

5. Tormento E Passione

6. Dark Fate of Atlantis

7. Fantasia Gotica

8. Clash of the Titans

9. Of Michael the Archangel and Lucifer's Fall

- I. Alma Mundi

- II. Fatum Mortalis

- III. Ignis Divinus

Luca Turilli descirbes the music of Rhapsody as much more cinematic and grand than anything Rhapsody of Fire ever has done. A preview of some of the songs from the album can be found the YouTube announcement video for their singer:
