Sonata Arctica Album Details

2012-02-20 by Whispered4tw | 28 Comments
Finnish hard rock band Sonata Arctica has announced their upcoming album Stones Grow Her Name to be released on May, 18th. The new record was recorded in several studios in Finland, mixed at "Sonic Pump Studios" by Mikko Karmila and mastered at "Chartmakers" by Svante Forsbäck.

The lead singer of the band, Tony Kakko, explains: "Our newest adventure is only a final touch short of being ready. The recordings went extremely well and the mixing is in schedule. Have to say I am enjoying myself greatly. I've had a very hard and work filled two year period writing the songs while touring extensively with our previous album "The Days of Grays". But it has all been worth it! Yet again we are introducing new things to keep the music alive and interesting. New elements, styles and new moods, talented guest artists and ideas for the enjoyment of the loyal friends of our music. Can't wait for you to get your hands and ears on "Stones Grow Her Name"! Hope to see you all again on tour! Be well!"

I love Sonata Arctica, but the album cover and song titles are a little too cheesy, and stupid in some cases (Shitload of Money, Wildfire II/III). First impressions are not looking good.

Meh, used to love Ecliptica when I was a kid, and a couple of songs from their better albums.

With the exception of the last album and some of their covers Sonata Arctica is a respectable band , sadly is one of most hated bands of the poeple that despise power metal

you guys can't appreciate the classical elements of the music. Sonata Arctica is one of the best bands and last album was great. Although song titles kind of suck, only the music counts so I still can't wait for the new album!

Yap, I'd say it's their finest so far.

Shitload of Money HAHAHAA :D

I listened to SA plenty as a teenager, they were ok back when they were power metal. I hate to say it, but they started going downhill after Kakko decided they wanted to be something else. It just sounds awfully pretentious TBH Their power metal albums were really enjoyable so it's a shame. Song titles are so awful.

BUT, we will see

Haha I love Sonata Arctica but these song titles are retarded. Reminds me of the stupidity that was CoB's last albums titles, horrible.

Yeah, they were decent Strato clones back in the day, now they're a real band.

They've always been better than Strato, even at their cloniest. they're awesome now.
