Who?

hes not some no-name dude, he actually used to be pretty awesome. listening to this now though, absolutely awful imo.
"the moog keytar-through-guitar-pedal solo at the end was done drunk and high as the dickens at 5am in one take."
they say this like it makes it cool but really it just sounds exactly like that description would make you think.

This is actually pretty good...
|
| |
el-p is still awesome watcha talkin bout
i'll sleep when you're dead and fantastic damage are so good
|

Panasonic is totally right. His new album will be nothing less than brilliant.
|
| |
I'm not really saying he's bad now. Did think this song was bad though.

El-P rules, fools need to recognize

Who crowned you the hip hop king Inveigh. Def Jux is whack man! El-P would loose in a battle to eyedea any day of the week. And im pretty sure MURS left Def Jux cause EL-P is so whack imo. Aesop Rock is the only thing they have going for them. You should check out some MidWest Hip Hop!

who crowned me king? muthafuckin FALCO and shit

@FlyLordz
Murs left Def Jux because he wasn't getting the promotion he wanted, he still is friends with El-P as most of the people at RSE are. The other issue I saw was that the two didn't mesh well in the songs they did. Def Jux also has Aesop Rock and Del on there who are constantly collaborating with top notch artists. To suggest that El-p or his label are lacking in talent is nothing short of insanity.
"I'll Sleep When You're Dead" is definitely better than most albums of the past few years. Murs is hit or miss and Eyedea is struggling imo. You say to check out MidWest but Murs is actually from South Central. Although MidWest hip-hop is my favorite, your arguments are lolbad.

i still get chills every time i listen to "Dear Sirs" off i'll sleep when you're dead.

@neurosisxeno
agreed, though i've never liked eyedea >_>, and yea, midwest hip hop has been taking over for several years now, ever since that bubble of def jux fame from the early 2000's kinda faded out.
and while i do enjoy atmosphere and brother ali, both arent really as good as they used to be imo, still good, but it's like they're out of material.
meanwhile, rhymesayers, golddust, and tons of other upstart labels, have been signing a lot of good new artists.

who are all these kids
|
| |
megamix 3 is actually pretty good... if you like El-P its definently worth checking out, its really good music to listen to when you have to do work and shit.
|
| |
as far as record labels go... dej jux no longer exists and rhymesayers is kinda weak so I would say Fake Four records (dark time sunshine, ceschi), Strange Famous (sage francis, b dolan, 2mex), and Duck Down records (marco polo, Pharoahe Monch, blue scholars) are where its at right now.... but thats probably just east coast bias...
