Musical Neighbors sounds sweet.

vote 4 neighbors

Didn't we already have notifications like three years ago? I always wondered what happened to those.

We had a box in the profile that listed recent comments on reviews.
|
| |
So these will be like a live feed or something?

They'll be dynamic. So if you have something unviewed, a notice would appear on the main page near your profile picture. When you go to your profile, you'd see a list of unviewed stuff that could be dismissed. It wouldn't appear if you've already seen it (unlike the old feature)

Since I apparently do not have the privilige to post on the forums, I thought this thread could help answering why I can't choose a custom avatar anymore?

Liking the user input here.

I'd like to see genres updated before long.
|
| |
I wish people would actually say something in my shoutbox. I don't feel loved =(.
Musical neighbors are nice though.
|
| |
i voted for musical neighbours
|
| |
genres do need some serious updating, though the last.fm musical neighbours thing is pretty helpful in the finding new music department.
|
| |
I'm guessing all these features will eventually be implemented, we are only voting on the order, correct?
I know its not getting votes, but a revamped upcoming release section would be awesome. Any self respecting music site has a section for this. Right now, a list of releases pops up in the news section (sometimes), but you have to look for it. A link to a list of upcoming releases belongs maybe wedged right in between new releases and music news on that part of the page. Or somehow merge upcoming releases with new releases. Either way.
Also I kind of miss subgenres.
Musical neighbors would be cool, but I think its the lowest priority.

"I'm guessing all these features will eventually be implemented, we are only voting on the order, correct? "
yea
|
| |
as i said on the forum: a competent new releases page is more valuable to the site than all this social networking stuff.
|

Musical neighbors.

Technology is ruining the world and raping it of all it's simplistic charms.

I really wanna know who my musical neighbors are
|
| |
In addition to stuff how about a way to weed out the non-using users. The troll accounts, accounts that have been inactive for 6 months, etc. etc.
|
| |
If you want to know who your musical neighbors are just check their last.fm page.
|
| |
I should get on that last.fm thing....
|
| |
Who is going to upkeep the Upcoming Releases if it were implemented? Would it be user inputted, or staff only kind of thing?
|
| |
so when can we expect this new feature to be available, good sir?
|
| |
does anybody know why the site took away the ability to search into the sub-genres. Like you click on Alt/Indie and u wanna check out "post rock". The old site had that feature and I for one thought it was helpful.

There should be a search engine for users. Often i've found myself trying to find a certain review by a user, but, forgetting what review it was of, found myself just searching through comments for far too long trying to find the user. Or, there are certain users whose reviews i prefer but don't review often. I like to check on their profile every so often to see if they've written a new review, but have trouble finding their profile. I just think it would be a very useful feature, especially now that we have shoutboxes, i'm sure you can see why a user search feature would be useful for finding shoutboxes as well.

Sputnik iPhone app.
A little band drop box would be nice, just in case somebody (me) forgets how to spell a band's name or what their name is...then I just use Google's drop box, but I don't like doing that. Other than than, musical neighbors.
|
| |
indeed a user search would be excellent

Sputnik iPhone app.
That would be sick. Even if there was just a mobile version of Sputnik online.

if there's a space in the username, that's when you use the + what if i forget how a username is spelled? I Think that a user search feature would be extremely useful, and it wouldn't be hard to implement into the website
|
| |
uhm
idea!
is there something we can do for the people that have either not logged in for a long time or have only rated like 10 albums? that way they aren't considered neighbors?
