I can't wait for Nick Greer's head to explode when he sees track 8

stoooooooooked
|

after poth, i'm not really looking forward to this
|
| |
Yeah, I'll listen to it out of nostalgia. Sad thing is the boys have got incredible talent but Erak's horrible Claudio/Cedric/banshee wail needs to end, and they need to get away from the wankery and write better songs than some of the crap that was littering Manipulator. One of my biggest beefs with TFOT stems from their always-questionable production choices (I still don't know how the production on Manipulator could have sucked so bad with Matt Bayles doing it), so I suppose with Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones) behind the controls at least it will sound good.
|
| |
I loved POTH I don't get what you think was wrong with it.
|
| |
I don't really care for this band (mostly because of the vocalist) but I'm interested to hear Terry Date's influence on the band.
|
| |
I've always liked the vocalist. These guys are great song writers and Manipulator was a great album. Plus, they might be one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Album's going to rule.
|
| |
I cannot wait, TFOT is deep in the depths of my heart.
|
| |
Awesome, I can't wait!
PS Phantom is the shit.
|
| |
Looking forward to this.
|
| |
me 4!
|
| |
this will be an interesting listen.
|
| |
Phantom on the Horizon was awesome though.
Never heard Manipulator but i'm still looking forward to this.
|
| |
Hopefully its more like Phantom and less like Manipulator.
|

This.
Manipulator did have really great songs such as Ex-Creations and Sledgehammer, although those weren't enough to redeem some of the crappier songs.
|
| |
phantom was terrible. i loved the demos to death and maybe that's why i don't like poth much. i dunno. i'm hoping it's more like doppelganger.
|
| |
Rody Walker ugh
|
| |
Agreed, I hate that guys voice.
|
| |
erasing hopes in five, four, three, two, one...
|
| |
cant wait honestly. hoping its more like doppelganger though
|

Nobody's perfect is the catchiest song ever. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDSJrSCAC2Y
|

Manipulator blew. Here's to this being more like s/t or Doppelganger...
|
| |
holy hell Fall of Troy f/Rody Walker, going to preorder.

It should have been
8. Dirty Pillow Talk (feat. Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta)
|
| |
"Nobody's perfect is the catchiest song ever."
shittiest*
|
| |
Cedric guest spot would have been overwhelming awesome, but still anticipating this none-the-less.
Here's to hoping for better vocals.
|
| |
Some people love to hate this band lol
|
| |
I honestly can't wait to hear the guest vocals from Rody. His vocal range has exponentially grown from PTH's first album to their second. I am hoping that this will give us a glimpse at what might be in store for their upcoming album.
|
| |
I can't wait to hear this album. Ah I'm so excited!
|
| |
From the stuff they've been playing live off of this, I'm kind of expecting Manipulator pt. 2. Not a good thing. Anyway, where is The Vomiting Winter? I assumed that was written for this album...
|
| |
Production may have improved on POTH, but I wouldn't really say the vocals were much better. The screams sounded less watered down, but Thomas is really starting to think he has a much better singing voice than he actually does. Some of his highs on Phantom were pretty laughable.
|
| |
rody > erak
ew, no.
|
| |
Judging by that song on youtube this should follow the shit-stain trail that (most of) manipulator left behind.
|
| |
Dirty Pillow Talk sounds like it will be funneh
|
| |
This looks like it will be as lackluster as Manipulator.
|
| |
Oh my God, what the fuck is all the complaining about?
His voice is excellent, they are great songwriters. Manipulator was amazing.
And its really stupid to think that a band should revert to an old sound, or expect them to.
|
| |
I only enjoyed Manipulator and it wasn't that great. I'm looking forward to this though.
|
| |
answering some questions for this thread...
1. Phantom on the Horizon was pretty shit and only enjoyable because it sounded like a b-sides/cover album by bands i actually like
2. This band can't write songs
3. Rody's guest-spot will either be an afterthought throw-in or will make the rest of the album's vocals much worse by comparison
4. It's a likely event, or better yet a near certainty, that this album will be as bad as their others...
|
| |
Please, endow us with more of your musical knowledge.
|
| |
I am hungry for wisdom.
|
| |
manipulator sucked, i could not get into that record to save my life. I think this is going to be much better though, rody rules.
|
| |
Rody Walker is amazing. Now I definitely gotta check this out.
|
| |
He does have quite the set of pipes.
|
| |
Forsman stated this sounds more like Doppleganger.
|
| |
they are so hated by so many here... so despised...
|
| |
uh the original demos, self titled and doppelganger have pretty good ratings so i wouldnt say they are hated.
manipulator just went way off track, but it was okay.
still excited for this, band will always be one of my favs
|
| |
Yeah not all their material is bad, in fact most of it is good.
Manipulator just suffers from TEDS (Thomas Erak Diva Syndrome).
|
| |
damnit i wanted to post this
they got rid of vomiting winter for nobody's perfect... TEH FUK? atleast vomiting winter sorta sounded like old tfot, nobody's perfect sounds like something crappy off of manipulator... or manipulator minus ex-creations in general -.-
i will still get this out of nostalgia though /sigh
|
| |
if you sign up for their mailing list, they'll email you one of the new songs this thursday
|
| |
Sweet, thanks for the heads up.
|
| |
YEAH
|
| |

a.) His singing fucking sucks compared to his scream. He's got a great scream. On the singing front, he thinks he's Claudio Sanchez and is about 1/4 as talented vocally
b.) Good songwriting most of the time, and yes, amazingly disappointing
c.) They probably won't, but that doesn't mean their older stuff wasn't better, which it was
