Agalloch Book Midwest Shows

2009-08-05 by Saidir | 20 Comments
US black metal luminaries Agalloch have scheduled a couple of rare Midwest shoes this September.

Writing on MySpace, the band stated: "Agalloch have scheduled two Midwest headlining shows with our friends Subarachnoid Space (psychedelic space rock) and Velnias (atavistic dark metal) in September.

"This will be the first time Agalloch has ever played in Milwaukee or Chicago and the first time we've played in the Midwest since 2004. Expect two very special 70+ min performances.

"We will also be selling a very special shirt at these gigs with artwork courtesy of Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets/Amesouers)."

Midwest Dates:

Fri, September 11 - Milwaukee, WI @ The Miramar Theater (w/ Subarachnoid Space, OvO and Velnias)
Sat, September 12 - Chicago, IL @ Reggies (w/ Subarachnoid Space, Indian and Velnias)

Also mentioned in the blog entry was the upcoming release of a 12" picture disc in September: "Eisenwald (Germany) will be releasing a 12" picture disc of our "From Which Of This Oak" demo in September. We hope to have copies of this cult vinyl available for these gigs."

Cool, they've realized that they have fans outside of Europe. Now they just need to work these shows over a couple thousand miles to the west.

From an interview I saw it sounded like a new album next year, hopefully anyways.

Why do they always make wait 4 years between full lenghts??? It's just too much and doesn't fulfill my daily requirements of Agalloch

probably so they don't burn out and/or so they can make the best records they can muster

I was hoping this article would contain the words, "We are touring in promotion of our new album due out this year". Fuck!

Is this where Sputnik members will unite? I may go to the Chicago show because this is probably the closest they will ever come to my state. I say everyone hold up Sputnik signs at the show haha

Well, if I went my presence would be obvious thanks to obnoxiously loud headbands, sport shorts, and a cut off Danzig t.
