There's a difference between catchy and having little else but 'do you know your enemy' as lyrics. This song is just so bland, and not what I was hoping for. That one scream moves it up from woeful to simply pretty damn bad.
And that's two tracks that I've heard now, and both are bad. Surely it's meant to be the best stuff that gets showcased first?

Whoever said this is worse than American Idiot, you are correct. I actually sort of enjoyed that. This, on the other hand, is absolutely terrible.

I loved American Idiot, but I'm not execting much from the new album. This songs is alright, but the verses and chorus are far too repetative, and are sure to get even more annoying as it gets inevitably overplayed.

Maybe I'll like it more in a year, when it's still being played on the radio and on MTV. (Sarcasm.) 1. The simplicity is actually a lack of effort thus creating a shitty sound
2. Powerful? power chords and progressions used in almost every song they have written don't translate into the ability to write moving music

I saw about 3 or 4 people that said that seeing that video was the best moment in their life on mtv.com. But yeah, pretty much everything about Green Day now makes me want to kick something.
