He really should just do a stripped-down, possibly all acoustic record. I was really hoping he'd go for a more raw, haunting sound in his music after hearing Down on the Upside and Euphoria Morning, but Audioslave undoubtedly veered him in the wrong direction.

i'm experiencing all kinds of feelings of loathing. some that i didn't even know previously existed.

I wasn't going to listen until I read how bad everyone thinks it is. So I listened, and it was even worse than I thought it would be.

Chris Cornell is a god. To hear him sink to the level of doing Afro-Pop music is just plain disheartening.

Keep in mind he's working with a clown shoe. What do you expect?

Everyone is talking about how terrible this is, which they are right, but it's not just Cornell that's terrible. Peolpe give Timbaland way too much credit...all of his beats sound nearly identical. He just goes for that tribal sound on every song, and this everybody sounds indentical. The Nelly Furtado album was indentical sounding to this song even, and the one song he did for M.I.A.'s Kala was easily the worst song on the album. I wish he'd stop interfering with good artists. Now Chris Cornell is going to be a joke, he'll never be able to redeem himself after this.

Timberland uses the same friggin beats with all the artists he works with. Why people think he's a musical genius beats me.

I also don't get how Cornell thinks that this is his best album to date. Wait 6 months, and we might have - Timbaland ft. Nelly Furtado, Justin Timerlake and Chris Cornell.

this new album is very different than what i'm used to, and i can see its the same for a lot of people here.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, although i can't help but wonder if it's chris' voice (which i think sounds great) against the backing beats that people aren't feeling.
