That sounds really cool, Ill definitely check this out.
|
| |
No surprises here. We expect him to surprise us!
|
| |
I can't even get to the store to buy it. The server must be crazy busy.
|
| |
The website is an absolute disaster.
But I'm looking forward to hear more of it. It strangely reminds me of Sigur Ros's () album...but with an NIN twist.
|
| |
Trent seeded Ghost I on TPB already. The whole thing's on there now though. It'll be all over the blogs tomorrow, but I'm paying up $10 for the CDs afterwards.
$300 Ultra deluxe edition? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
|
| |
This is seriously awesome, im trying to download it but yea the users are all used up. And yea that 300 dollar edition looks nuts. It'll probably sell out though because of the rep Trent has built with NIN. And yea i'll probably get the 10 dollar cd.
Ladies and gentlemen: the music industry is going down =).

Great News!
A lack of instrumentals has been one of my major complaints on the last 2 NIN albums. This Message Edited On 03.02.08

Oh god the site is loading so slow!
|
| |
shit, took me about 2 hours to finally be able to download it.
|
| |
lol, as long as the cd is!
|
| |
I won't say I expected this exactly but I'm not horribly surprised. Still this is pretty cool, I'm psyched.
|
| |
Ladies and gentlemen: the music industry is going down =).
Oh get real.
|
| |
I've only listened to the first track, and I allready like it better than almost everything he's done since the fragile
|
| |
Yeah I still cant d/l anything right now...
|
| |
I think my hard copy will make it here faster than this downloading, haha
|
| |
^^^ Lulz Pebbleystar.
Yeah, this sounds cool. I still need to get my hands on Year Zero.
|
| |
year zero is a complete waste of time
check out my review to see why
|
| |
Wow, I literally spent the entire night just getting through the billing portion of the process... I'm still waiting on my email. I know this'll be worth it but this is ridiculous.
|
| |
i'm in the middle of downloading the first 9 tracks, i can't say i have sky-high expectations but hey it's free.
on a side note, if the $300 package sells out, that's like $750,000. someone must need a new fleet of pimpmobiles
|
| |
five million years later...and the folder is invalid or corrupted. grand.
|
| |
currently loading and reloading the site to make it slower for others
|
| |
So....Who here is getting the Deluxe Edition Package?
|
| |
Listening to the first nine tracks now. I didn't expect that at all upon waking up this morning.
|
| |
Trent adding Ghost I to TPB is phenomenal. I'll definitely be checking this out.
|
| |
I probably download the free ones.
|
| |
trent's awesome meter is going up to godly with this one.
|
| |
eggsvansatan- you're a fool. Year Zero is a work of genius and an absolute triumph, and NIN is my favorite band as well. The songwriting's phenomenal, the new sound''s very fresh and Jesus Christ is it better than The Fragile, his only bad CD.
Ghosts will rock, getting the $10 edition.
|
| |
five million years later...and the folder is invalid or corrupted. grand.
My download won't even get off the ground. Not even a minute into it, it'll just stop.
|
| |
im downloading it from elsewhere. much quicker
|
| |
Jesus Christ is it better than The Fragile, his only bad CD.
Complete fail. Zero is great but it's nowhere as good as The Fragile.
|
| |
On top of that, With Teeth should get the honors as his worst CD, not The Fragile.
|
| |
NIN has been my favorite band for years, and The Fragile is probably my favorite album. I'm embarassed for anyone who could actually pick Year Zero over the Fragile.
Year Zero is totally stale and uninspired. Trent is capable of much, much more
|
| |
Bittorrent ftw! It's only the 9 free tracks, but I'm good with that. NIN is one of the few bands that I will actually buy stuff for.
|
| |
The first 2 parts are brilliant on first listen. Although, listening to all 4 sections in one go is a bit tiresome at first.
|
| |
So THAT'S what this was...
Maybe I'll get it if I have free time. I liked The Fragile, but nothing else. I always found his instrumental stuff to be significantly better though.
|
| |
If you like the fragile, you'll probably like this.
From what i've heard so far, this is the most creative thing Trent's done this decade.
|
| |

Jesus Christ No. Year Zero was shit!

Jesus Christ Yes. The Fragile was his masterpiece.
|
| |
The Fragile = The White Album of our generation
I'm sure i will get shat all over for that statement
|
| |
I'm not one to shit on another for his taste, but I totally disagree with that statement. I can see how you make the comparison though.
I'm not really a big NIN fan to be honest, but as with every record he's put out I'll at least give it a chance.
|
| |
The Fragile has absolutely nothing on The Downward Spiral
|
| |
Well said eggsvonsatan. One of my favourite albums of all time. Seems to me that people who are just now discovering NIN really seem to dig Year Zero. And no, I'm not trying to make that comment out to sound like I'm an elitist! Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
|
| |
No, it's just that Year Zero was ultimately badass, and the only people who want to criticise it are taking off of the fact that statement "New NIN sucks! It's all commercial!"
Ghosts proves that you DON'T doubt NIN. It's amazing. This Message Edited On 03.03.08

This is amazing so was year zero. as good as the fragile imo, not better tho.
|
| |
Year Zero was good, but it couldn't match up to either the Fragile or The Downward Spiral. Maybe Pretty Hate Machine, but definitely not the first two I listed.
With Teeth is just plain bad.
|
| |
This was worth every bit of those 2 hours it took to get through the site. My favorites are 8, 14, and a bunch in the 20's.
Some of them feel like random doodles though.
|
| |
A few do, I agree.
But it doesn't make it any less amazing.
|
| |
Hey why does every NIN news article, review, list, journal or other miscellaneous method of posting have to ensue the same retarded debate over what within the discography sucks and what does not suck when none of them are really alike in the first place?
|
| |
People endlessly argue over NIN.
Somebody says, "hey, NIN have sucked ever since The Fragile."
Then somebody says, "no Year Zero kicked ass."
Then somebody says, "that CD was shit."
Then somebody says, "With Teeth wasn't that bad."
And so on...

Some people may want to look at that if you don't feel like waiting a week for a faster server.

Ladies and gentlemen: the music industry is going down =)
lol
|
| |
oy ok maybe my music industry statement was overstated. But theres a truth in showing that you don't need a major label anymore with the growing technology (First Radiohead now NIN).
It's a long ways to go for sure....but hey you gotta start somewhere ::shrugs::

*Buzzer Noise*............WRONG! NIN has put out some commercial stuff before but the song writing is so half assed with Year Zero. Some of the electronic breakdowns (for use of a better word) were cool at first and then I realized how lazy Trent got with actually writing a tune.
|
| |

Haha, agreed.
Tracks 1-9 are pretty decent; very chill music to study Political Science to :thumb:
