Slipknot Prepares "Fun"

2006-06-05 by Hep Kat | 21 Comments
Usually when bands take a break, the actually do just that: take a break. However, despite being in the middle of a year and a half long Sabbatical, metal band Slipknot are anything but idle. The band is planning a follow-up DVD to 2002's "Disasterpieces," and intend to begin work on their fourth studio album in the coming months.

"We're going to start getting back together and working on stuff," guitarist Mick Thomson stated to Billboard.com. "The core that writes the songs tend to get together -- it's not as easy to work out stuff when you've got nine people standing in the same room. I would say we'll start working within the next few months. I've talked to [Slipknot bassist] Paul [Gray] a few times. Very slowly, no pressure."

Thomson promises that the new DVD and album will be a different sort of direction for his band.

Thanks to Billboard.com for the info.

I'm looking forward to the new Slipknot album. I hope it continues in the same direction that Vol. 3 did.

Ohhh, I'm getting shivers down my spine right now.
This album should be great, seeing as how Vol. 3 was a great turn for the band.

No. 5 and 7 are my favorite members of the band!

Slipknots alright, Vol 3 was a great step with the band.

I hope it's like their self-titled album and Vol. 3 combined, but also with even more growth then before.

I was pretty disappointed with "Iowa", which is why Vol. 3 shocked me.. It's a major jump in musical growth, IMO. ;.;

If it's another Vol. 3 i'll kill myself. I hated that album. I hope it's like their self-entitled album. (I'd rather it be like their EP, but that's too much to hope for, now isn't it?)

I dunno i must one of the few people who liked the IOWA album. I also hope the drumming is as good and is heavier on fourth album
not that i dont like vol.3 dont get me wrong its almost like they went alittle soft and friendly which shows tremondous growth but i miss the old slipknot like the slipknot i heard in grade 6

my only guess when it says "A new direction for the band" is that they'll leave their Nu-Metal style and go full on Metal
