Cirith Ungol Cast Shadows 2026-09-04 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 2 Comments | Cirith Ungol will release their seventh studio album, All the Shadows, on October 30 through No Remorse Records.
The announcement marks another unexpected chapter in the Californian heavy metal band's history. Cirith Ungol announced a series of farewell performances in 2024, but have now returned to continue developing the apocalyptic combination of traditional heavy metal, doom and dark fantasy that has defined their career.
Vocalist Tim Baker described the album as a collection of stories about damaged hearts, broken dreams, madness, corruption and humanity's descent toward a dystopian future. Drummer Robert Garven similarly characterized it as the next chapter in the band's depiction of mankind falling into darkness and despair.
The title track has been released as the album's first single. Garven described it as a crushing opening statement forged by the Masters of the Pit.
All the Shadows was recorded at The Captains Quarters in Ventura, California. Armand John Anthony engineered, mixed and mastered the record, while producing it alongside the band. Jarvis Leatherby served as executive producer, and longtime collaborator Michael Whelan created the cover artwork.
The album features Baker on vocals, Anthony on guitar, Leatherby on bass and Garven on drums and percussion.
