God, they tour with the worst bands.

Number Twelve are not exactly highly regarded for their originality or pushing any sort of musical envelope
It would figure that they play with annoying scenester bands

I honestly beg to differ...
They're a caliber above the scenster bands...
They actually bring more to the table than simply high pitched screaming with metal-esque guitar riffs and can be respected for their musicianship to say the least...
At least they're actually good at what they do compared to most of the highschool bands that are influenced by them.
I don't know...
I think people listen to the Number 12 for 10 seconds and make their statement on the music.
I'll admit... I use to hate the Number 12. They're hard for most people to digest, plus, as I said before people make assumptions so it usually ends up with people either loving the band to death or hating the band to death.
I love these guys now and I don't even listen to other related artists or anything close to them.
These guys are amazing and I hope their career as musicians thrive.

I really could care less what image they follow or what bands tour with them. I like the damn music.
Though this really doesn't seem like "news." Just a band switching their myspace songs.... >.>

I'm kind of digging Grandfather, time to get new album.
They'll be in North Carolina for 2 shows in November, I can't help saying how much I love this state. This Message Edited On 10.06.07

Meh, I don't see them as scene at all, considering they're pretty much completly original in their grind esq music.
|
| |
They were formed in 2001, well after bands were already digging into metalcore and pseudo-grind, and there are plenty of bands that do the exact same sort of thing they do (better, even)
Actually what's even more important is they didnt even release anything until 2003 and by that time bands like them were all over the placeThis Message Edited On 10.06.07

True...
But even before their official release as the Number 12 they still toured with material in 2000 under different outfits and different members with the original founders...
Not only that, but I doubt there's many people that will actually admit that the Number 12 has a sound that is flooded into the mainstream or even the underground.
Which is exactly my point...
It ties right into these scensters.
Back then this trend was never thought of and didn't exist at all.
it's these scene bands right now that are trying to reproduce the number 12's sound.
Any band can be influenced by something... You have to have influences. But the thought of there being TONS of bands like the Number Twelve even back then is sort of ludicrous.
I respect your input, but our views don't match up on this band; and they don't have to, so it's all good. This Message Edited On 10.06.07

What bands sound like #12 like you say?
|
| |
this isn't news whatsoever.
|

^True
I think The #12 are a great band if only for doing what they do better than most other bands in their genre. However I find them fairly original as I can't think of many bands that sound quite like them.
