This is like my favorite song from him in a decade even if it just turns into a Phoenix song at the end

This is shaping up to be their best since Plastic Beach. Saw them live a few months back and it was incredible too. Great track

The chorus feels unnecessary Coldplay for them and the vocal melody reminds me of a more restrained Fireflies by Owl City and uhh.. I hate that.

a shorter tracklist and not THAT many features

sounds like he's finally fixing Gorillaz' problems these last years

cool song overall, really liked the climax. I hated the repetition of that "HEY" throughout the song. Reminds me of Bad Bunny which I hate

“a shorter tracklist and not THAT many features”

It sucks that not that, at this point with the band, not many features = half the album. I still listen to s/t weekly-monthly (it’s cozy) and it really stands out at this point because of the lack of features and how that lack produces either more experimental tracks or at least more instrumental-driven tracks. I know dub’s not popping rn but I always thought they were at their best with songs like Gravity or Double-Bass instead of straight synth-pop, funky fresh or not

Yeah I'd love a return to the s/t Sound, especially the dub stuff. I still love the other records too but as I've gotten older, I've gone back to s/t more and more.
