RIP. Sad to see people going out so young. Dudes mental did seem like a total roller coaster these past couple years just based off some interviews I've seen.

This is pretty sad but on par for his trajectory...especially in recent years. Addiction sucks. RIP.

I have no ingihts in this topic, but it seeems that from the moment, the backstreet boys took off, his life path was already set. Pretty sad.

Plus, he left his one year old child behind.

Antoher tragic tale of a child star being chewed up and spat out by the entertainment industry, treated by everbody as a washed up laughing stock. RIP, hope he finds peace now.

I grew up listening to aaron carter as a kid too and it is very upsetting. okay. The frustrating thing about this is that when I expected it to end well, it ended badly.

“Antoher tragic tale of a child star being chewed up and spat out by the entertainment industry.” +1. Choose at least one, “child star,” addiction, inability to cope with normal life, trauma stemming from an unhealthy and unconventional development.

Reading his personal life section on wikipedia makes it even sadder. Addiction and mental illness is always tough, especially on former child stars. RIP.

I had a friend open up for him at a show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh prob. 4 years ago right before COVID. The local kid had prob. 50-60 friends and family come out and rocked the place for him as an opener. By the time aaron came on the crowd was cut in half.

Can't imagine being taken advantage of as a kid, to peak as a teenager, and then spiral out the way he did.

RIP.

I have not been well for two days throughout. It's hard to describe, and I'm not crying bitterly, I just can't eat anything and I throw up when I do. I mean the death of a celebrity is nothing new, but this one seems to have hit me quite hard.

The only thing I regret is that I never showed any support for him. Including when he seemed very bad, dependent on live, even broke, I stayed silent and simply mentally hoped he would get better, always kept at a distance. So his presence gave a lot of joy to young me, but I was really just taking all the time. This is something I really regret, I haven't expressed a single word of fondness, a word of encouragement, or a thank you. It's actually easy to leave an IG message isn't it, but I haven't even done it.

In terms of celebrity deaths the ones that really hit me extremely hard were Norm Macdonald and Trevor Moore. They weren't in the music realm and both comedians, Trevor being more in the sketch realm but I grew up with them both and they had a massive role in my sense of humor and honestly brought me more joy over the years than anyone I can think of. They were pretty close together time wise also and that was a rough stretch. It's strange how someone you've never personally met can effect your life sometimes in such a major way.

Agreed on the favorite comedian part. I hadn't read in years and took it back up when he dropped his book. Been obsessed with him for as long as I can remember and Dirty Work is also my favorite comedy movie. His appearances on Conan are my favorite things in existence period lol. In terms of musicians deaths though I can't think of any off of the top of my head that hit me particularly hard. I'm sure there has been on some point but in general I tend to feel more when comedians pass just because I feel like I know them on a little more of a personal level I guess

Lil Peep made me really sad too. I was only just becoming a fan and almost went to see him earlier on that last tour. But what fucked me up is that we were born a few months apart and he was 21. Aaron Carter was the first person I called my favorite singer as a little kid. I was stoked we had the same first name, and of course, he had jams. RIP.
