Sergio Vega plus Keith Buckley

2022-04-21 by Stormy Smiley Face | 29 Comments
Speaking to Joshua Toomey on his Talk Toomey podcast, Sergio Vega, formerly the bassist of Deftones, has confirmed a new band/project is being developed by himself, featuring Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, and Chris Enrique, the drummer of Spotlight.

Sergio:

“You don’t have the thing of trying to build the band. You don’t have to deal with the time conflicts with the people you may want to work with, it opens up a lot. So currently we have a song done. We have [another] one almost done. And then last week we started working on a track with Keith Buckley. It's super exciting because we got on the phone and we just talked about life. He, Chris and I had a quick FaceTime. We hadn’t met each other, obviously [we’re] well aware of each other. And we really, really hit it off. So it’s a rare time that I feel compelled to mention the person because of the situation.”

"working on a track with Keith Buckley" like a single track? guest spot? i don't get it

Edit: "And what we're doing is a single based project. You get with a singer, you talk a little bit about a vibe and we write a song together. And that's it."

So yeah Keith's not in the band

as someone who attended the ETID circlejerk so often he set up camp and built a house on the crusty foundations; it'll probably be shite

I don't think this means Keith and Sergio are in a band together now, seems more like Keith is just contributing vocals to a song on Sergio's project.
