New Static-X video

2021-11-09 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 10 Comments
Static-X have released another music video from their 2021 album Project Regeneration, Vol. 1, on what would have been Wayne Static's 56th birthday. The track, "Terminator Oscillator", is one of few tracks on the album not to feature any vocal input from late frontman Static, and is instead a completely new composition solely featuring Tony Campos and "Xer0" (long suspected to be Edsel Dope) sharing vocals, although Static received a songwriting credit on the album which suggests that it may have been born from an instrumental demo he had left behind. The video also appears to feature a new mask for Xer0.

Static-X are currently recording the second part of Project Regeneration with a view to release the album in 2022. Although members have been asked if they plan to continue under the Static-X name after the touring cycle for both Project Regeneration albums has concluded, they have refused to give a definitive answer, instead stating that they will rely on fans' reactions to the albums and live shows before deciding their next steps.

Aside from Project Regeneration, Vol. 2, the band will also be releasing a 20th Anniversary edition of Machine on 18 February 2022, with new remasters of the tracks and new artwork on physical editions, removing all mention of convicted sex offender Tripp Eisen from the layout. Eisen did not perform on the album, having joined at the end of recording, which was done as a 3 piece between Wayne Static, Ken Jay and Tony Campos.

"There were two cases [involving two separate girls]. I had to deal with both things. And I got through it. [...] People can... It's been out there. It's been so long ago. That's why it's kind of hard to talk about it. But I'm here, I'm alive, I'm well, I survived it, and the fact that... It was difficult. [...] Horrible judgment. What happened to me was really bad judgment, terrible mistakes that I made, and I paid a price for 'em"
