Founding UFO bassist Pete Way died at the age of sixty-nine after suffering severe injuries in a domestic accident, two months earlier. The legendary bassist died at the hospital with his wife Jenny by his side on Friday morning.

Pete Way also founded Waysted and Fastway, and was the former bassist for Ozzy Osbourne.

UFO was one of the main exponents of British hard-rock during the seventies, influencing bands like Iron Maiden or Metallica. The band released twenty-two albums and sold twenty million records.

RIP. Too soon after Paul Raymond last year and Paul Chapman a few months ago. I hope Phil and Andy actually get to enjoy their retirement. UFO rules, I cannot recommend Strangers in the Night enough.

its interesting how they sold 20 million records yet are still seemingly underappreciated. maybe their fans are just the silent type or something

They were a big name back in the seventies, mainly in Europe.
