I heard a Thrice track a long time ago, and it wasn't that bad. I'll probably look into their new album when it comes out.

As for Thrice; I think it sounds interesting. I hope the promises of a more advanced sound are true. I think Vheissu was a step in the right direction, but they need to take it one step further.

MTV once again shows they don't know shit about music. This is the same MTV that said Mastodon sounded like Metallica.

Why Will It Suck?: Because no matter what Dustin Kensrue and company will tell you about "changing the band's sound" and "pushing boundaries" — something they seemingly do whenever there's a new album to promote — everything the band does sounds exactly the same.

Thrice is not amazing but they're pretty good. MTV is just burnt-out and hateful from spending all their time fellating Nelly and Good Charlotte and need somebody to pick on. Who even cares anyway? I don't know anybody who watches MTV and doesn't feel guilty about it.

Ha, I never even thought of that but that could be a possibility. I have lost most of the respect I had for Island, first Thursday, then Thrice and hell even FightStar who I could care less about complaining Island wanted to make them poppier. After multiple accounts of that complaint, I'm going to label Island a record who only gives a damn about how many records an artist will sell, not what the artist actually wants to do/sound like.
