This sounds like their old stuff, just more refined. That being said, if I were them, I'd also want to distance myself from Til' Death.

Hahahaha this is so stupid. Didn't Sumerian drop them after their first album because they sucked so bad?
|
| |
Just checked their track listings to see what terrible album it was that I heard and they have a song called Storm In A Teacup..... I need to know if that is merely a coincidence or if Storm is a big fan.
|
| |
I'll tell ya one thing, don't get curious enough to listen to the song/album. It's fucking disgraceful
|
| |
those vox are so bad lol
like i still can't decide if he is trying to scream or sing
|
| |
Reign of Terror is their best by far, and honestly one of the best metalcore albums of the year it was released if not the best.
It's a little weird they decided to go back to the Live Life / Til Death esque sound but it's still pretty cool. Jeffrey Wellfare's vocals sound great as always, can't wait for more songs from this to be released.
|
| |
Nothing special in the slightest really, but not as absolutely horrible as CTC was on songs like "You Call That a Knife..." and "All Hype All Night" though.
They really went about the new name thing terribly though. It's not like their sound change is as drastic as Oceana > Polyenso, it's still mostly the same metalcore / post-hardcore stuff.
|
| |
That was pretty okay. I believe the vocalist is the only original member left now, that might be why the name change happened
|
| |
Do I dare listen?
|
| |
@dbizzles Storm in a Teacup was a UK hit by The Fortunes as well as The Tremeloes from back in the 70's, and also (the one I know best) a Red Hot Chili Peppers song from Stadium Arcadium.
|
| |
Better than it had any right to be but still not great or anything. I did really enjoy the outro though, easily the best part of the song.
|
| |
Scorpion, that was very informative- admittedly I had no idea about those songs. I still want to believe he's just a huge Capture the Crown fan though lol.
|
| |
haha I mean I suppose anything's possible, but my guess is that his inspiration is probably from one of those other two songs...seeing as how he's been on this site forever (since before me, and I joined in 2008)
he's basically grandpa status around here
|
| |
It would be even better if he requested a name change to the mods when the CTC song came out. A man can dream I'll hustle his shout box and get to the bottom of this.
|
| |
Yessir the mystery must be solved
Also...stupid name change. Pointless and not nearly as catchy
|
| |
why
|
| |
Which one is this band again? I always get these guys and Crown The Empire confused. I guess there's really no difference, they both suck.
|
| |
"Just checked their track listings to see what terrible album it was that I heard and they have a song called Storm In A Teacup..... I need to know if that is merely a coincidence or if Storm is a big fan."
No I'm named after the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I don't even know if I've heard that song you're talking about.
|
| |
"he's basically grandpa status around here"
I'm 26!
|
| |
I'm just playing Storm. I know you're better than that.
|
| |
My only complaint about this is with the production, the drums really lack necessary punch.
|
| |
oh hey they stole this song from former guitarist Mitchell Rogers and released it to spite his exit from CTC last year. Stop supporting this garbage band and listen to something else
|
| |
if you're in a band and write a song then leave did the rest of the band really 'steal' it
|
| |
Glad you asked! it was a song Mitchell wrote and demo'd himself but was never fully produced until he quit the band. Then CTC released it without his knowledge after the fact. Now they're in the process of ensuring all songwriting credit goes to him but only after everyone found out about the dick-move they pulled
|
| |
how did the rest of the band get a hold of it then
|
| |
they just did, why does it matter
|
| |
so they literally stole it. like snuck in and copied it off his hard drive
or
|
| |
no dude
|
| |
I'm with betray on this, let's get some proof of theft before any more discussion about it happens.
Otherwise it just sounds like someone trying to trash the band because a member left.
|
| |
"no dude"
wait so they didn't steal it? i'm confused
|
| |
really stupid rename, either completely change the name or don't do it all. They somehow made the band name even more stale than their original verb-the-noun name
|
| |
their old name sucked, new name sucks too and on top of this their musical output sucks even more.
|
| |
The sky is blue
|
| |
Band absolutely blows.
