There's absolutely no point to this other than as an ego stroke, I doubt there were many people who genuinely wanted this to happen back when American Idiot was still in every single radio in the universe and I can't possibly imagine who could possibly want this to happen 12 years later other than people with undying attachments to their nostalgia (Which on reflection there's probably a good number of since everyone gets nostalgic over everything now), or to just laugh at its inevitable awfulness

Billie Joe Armstrong is the Geoff Tate of pop punk and it's only a matter of time when he breaks up with Green Day, starts a lengthy legal battle over naming rights then starts a new band called American Idiots.

American Idiot is still one of my favorite albums.
Really not sure how I feel about yet another adaptation of it though, the play was decent.
