seems better than the last one. i'm all for experimentation for metal bands...but i just don't think the last single worked that well for them. hopefully the experimentation can work out for the better

Last one grew on me, but it's kind of weak compared to regular gojira! Still solid!

Compared to their previous works it was not good at all. John Dillinger shares my opinion in the first comment "Last single was probably the worst song they ever wrote."

I think it is impressive what they managed to put in a 3m30s long song. This album might work for them as a shot at being more mainstream. At least shortness is not horribly detrimental to the music.

i honestly really like this band but they've been quite accessible for a while now. i don't see how this is a more "mainstream" sound than their last 3 albums. the previous single is a different matter entirely though.

I jumped in on TWOAF, but Mars to Sirius is a better album. (Though not by much) Start there.

New song rules, honestly. If this is what the new album has in store then I'm on board.

[3] although l'enfant sauvage is also quite good and accessible, and their early stuff is at least worth a check

all of their albums are about equally great, with equal amounts of amazing and meh tracks too. L'Enfant Sauvage might be their most consistent work to date, but FMTS has their best songs imo (Flying Whales, Heaviest Matter, Backbone)

yeah the first two albums are somewhat underrated but they also have a bit too much -core influences for my liking. they drag on a bit imo, but they're very solid.

It's lazy songwriting when vocals follow the guitar melody. Gojira need to step up these choruses.
