Just in case anyone still had some expectations
| |
didn't go with the "Skillet 'Unleashes' new album" pun huh, damn I would've done that
| |
Skillet tries to be like Thousand Foot Krutch
I normally have a soft spot for this band but man...that was terrible, even for Skillet standards.
| |
Yeah like what the heck were they thinking. Cooper is basically rapping this cheesy pop song.
| |
Skillet "cooks up" new album would be even better but why waste mental energy crafting puns for this band
| |
I feel like I should hate this song, but I just... don't. Guilty pleasure, I guess.
| |
band's been done for 10 years, song is awful
| |
I could still jam Comatose and Awake, but Rise was average and this follows suit.
| |
My pun wasn't approved
| |
haha been there, daysofthunder
| |
My two cents though, this band's always going to be a guilty pleasure. Isn't the worst thing I've heard them do, and hook is kinda catchy.
Expect this to be on all sorts of sports programming this summer.
| |
God damn why'd they replace the strings (which were usually pretty tight) with this synth shit that sounds like a free plugin on Logic Pro.
| |
Yeah they should be doubling down on the heavy symphonic rock thing. The itunes session EP had extended symphonic parts, but they didn't continue in that direction unfortunately.
| |
I liked Rise, sure the production was shit and the second half was pretty mundane but I thought there were some gems here and there
| |
The verses are pretty terrible but as far as dumb radio rock goes the chorus is aight
| |
yeah I do dig that synth sound in the chorus but it's all too simplistic. These guys are pretty good when bombastic.
| |
I feel like I should hate this. Been a fan for a long time since my teen years and kinda kept track of them more out of nostalgic loyalty than anything else by this point. The auto-tune on the verses is jarring, the synthy thing is old news since Alien Youth, and even the guitar solo is kinda meh considering the beast Seth Morrison can be.
And yet... I kinda like it. I know this will grow on me, for better or worse.
| |
It's better than "Rise" but still is pretty average; chorus was pretty good though.
| |
this shit is horrible
| |
this band is one of the few that I've ever actively disliked and this song has only strengthened that.
| |
Probably the worst thing from Skillet I've heard lmao
| |
verses sound like pitbull/flo rida/other terrible pop rapper
| |
You're right, it sounds like "Right Round" by Flo haha. I knew they were selling out but daaaaaaaaamn
| |
Not good at all. I mean Rise was generic and poor overall but if they're heading in the electronic rock direction it's just another step down.
| |
Collide was the only thing this band has done that was close to good. Alan Youth had a few good songs too but everything before and after were just plain bad.
| |
Holy shit this song makes Comatose sound amazing.
| |
Still sounds better than what 5FDP had on their last batch. Although that's not exactly a compliment by those standards.
| |
pretty much anything that's related or similar to 5FDP isn't a compliment
| |
5FDP isn't THAT bad (at least not "War Is The Answer")
| |
5FDP is exactly that bad, probably worse actually
| |
War Is The Answer is a pretty jammy album, but I haven't listened to the rest of their discog.
| |
the intro and pre chorus deserve to be in better songs
| |
5FDP were designed and created in cringey secret by thirty-seven cringe science specialists, who were commissioned by the Cringe Corporation of Croatia, a fact that was swiftly cringily covered up by Donald Trump, Cringe King Elect, in an effort to plunge America deeper into the murky cringey depths of the cringe crisis we have found ourselves in.

This entire statement was cringe.
| |
wow, a premiere!
| |
where's my sequin dress
| |
bad band. some catchy stuff.
| |
it sounds like "Right Round" by Flo [2]
Chorus is fun though.
| |
This song is made all the worse with the fact that he's singing about jesus. ugh.
| |
I'm not religious but are you really upset at the fact that a religious band is singing lyrics about Jesus? They're not really in your face about it either; if you didn't know they were religious, you wouldn't have made that connection.
| |
I can dig it, not that bad.
| |
This is god awful
| |
Nah I'm not upset. It just makes the song super cringy.
| |
How though? The song is average as fuck, but I don't understand how cliche empowerment lyrics are cringeworthy.
| |
I guess you could say we're SICK OF IT *riff*
| |
10/10
| |
"I guess you could say we're SICK OF IT *riff*"
Heh
| |
Wow, I actually cringed listening to this. Skillet really have hit rock bottom. It's a shame as Comatose and Collide are still fun to jam to.
