Meh
| |
aint this such a great cover of at the bottom?
| |
good song, album's gonna be a grower
| |
I'm irked by people comparing this to at the bottom. The vertical aspect of the verse and chorus melodies aren't really that similiar and the instrumentation is different chord and dynamic wise. Same with the rhythm section, completely different except for maybe the chorus. If I'm wrong whatever, but in a music theory sense the songs are definitely different.
| |
As for the music video idk...
| |
in all seriousness, the song is pretty good.
| |
Good song
| |
Song is alright, video is underwhelming
Still holding out hoping the rest of the album is better, but as of now this will probably be my least favorite Thrice since their debut
| |
Brilliant video.
Just kidding, I'm sure there's some cool meaning from the creator of the video, but it's not really clear by watching it one time.
All I know is that older dude creeped me out. And I'm confused why the camera was on the boy's chest. I guess his button was glowing or something....
| |
Oh so it's a new video for an old song. Well, the song is dece but the video kinda blew
| |
I have only ever liked two songs from Thrice. The Artist in the Ambulance and Image of the Invisible.
Now I like three.
| |
they have much better songs than those
| |
like over a hundred.
| |
The child looks like little Mac Miller
| |
The artist in the ambulance is at least top five thrice songs for me
| |
love is a loyalty sworn
| |
You could suggest a couple but most of the stuff doesn't have enough edge for me. Im surprised the energy and pace from The artist and the ambulance was never really used again from what i've heard.
| |
well good thing they didnt take your advice.
| |
Love me some Thrice but this song has really not grown on me at all. And the video was pretty weak
| |
Wish they'd keep their eyes on the road
| |
I don't care for the video but I absolutely love the song. This is the first album I will have paid for in years.
| |
I don't think I've watched a video for years save for a few fan made videos.
| |
I can't understand the love for new Thrjce. It's my wife's favorite band but I just don't get it.
| |
I absolutely love the song. Haven't watched the video.
| |
This is my favorite band but this album seems like it might be underwhelming :/. Praying the singles are the low points of the album (or that they'll grow on me).
| |
Pretty solid song. Better than the Brand New single at least.
| |
Was waiting for someone to compare this to the new Brand New song.
| |
I actually really like this song. Not the vid though.
| |
Damn I wasn't expecting to like this, but the song is awesome
| |
"I have only ever liked two songs from Thrice. The Artist in the Ambulance and Image of the Invisible.
Now I like three."
Of all the Thrice songs...
| |
artist in the ambulance is a real good song tho
| |
this album is going to suck isn't it
| |
don't like song or video. Pity, pity, pity
| |
"Of all the Thrice songs..."
seriously
| |
pretty good tbh
| |
Songs really good, but the video is...meh, I don't get it. Still hyped as fuck for this album.
| |
That kid murdered errrbody.
| |
the song is fucking lit, no idea what people are complaining about
| |
yeah I really love this song
| |
Song is great, video is iffy
| |
the video is super strange but filmed beautiful. May 27th can not come soon enough!!
| |
Song really grew on me since it was first released. Can't wait for this album.
| |
Great song! Video is even better. Took a couple watches, but extremely powerful. We as adults forget what it's like to have childhood innocence. We impose our fears, angers, anxiety, and dominance. Sometimes it's better if we just listen. A childhoods innocence can remind us all how delusional and obsessive we become. How in the pursuit of "Black Honey" we lose our a paradise, and tranquility. I may be wrong, but the beauty of art is interpretation.
| |
This song was great back in 2009 when it was done originally
| |
pretty cool song but yeah this is pretty heavy at the bottom
| |
ok, like, I understand why people are making At the Bottom comparisons as much as the next guy but uh
the two really aren't thaaaat similar
people makin' this out to be plagiarized or some shit when at most they sound vaguely alike at parts tonewise
| |
Enough tonal qualities and similar song structuring for me to immediately equate it to a song I haven't heard in years. I won't say it's intentional, but wow that's a big coincidence.
| |
i like it, and will like it more
| |
As someone who never really got into Thrice this has just about swayed me to give their new album a chance.
| |
its funny, the more i spin, the less it sounds like at the bottom
| |
similar buildup of the song structure but are either actually unique or complex? i don't hear similarities in melody at all
| |
Digging this. It's probably the closest I've heard them sound to Vheissu, after The Alchemy Index Fire EP.
| |
The choruses in particular stand out in terms of similarity
| |
Another new song is out now and it's easily the best of the three so far
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TiDTE1UyM0
| |
The new song might be my least favorite of the three so far. I dig it but I think Black Honey is my favorite of the trio.
| |
Well, the politics is strong.
| |
The new song is great. All three songs have been great, honestly. Album will be a 4+ just like everything Thrice does.
