BLEGHCORE has returned godbless
| |
boring and generic as hell now. That chorus also has some absolutely terrible vocals.
| |
everything I could want out of this band honestly. that blegh was pretty weak tho
| |
It's fine. Doesn't really elicit a reaction from me, but their last album was pretty fun so I'll probably check this. Sounds essentially like everything they've ever made.
| |
Can't say I'm surprised that it sounds exactly the same as the last album. What the hell is up with the 'bleghs' though? He never used to do them.
| |
damn the teaser got my hopes up too
| |
sounds like pretty much any section could've been copy and pasted to LF//LT. just not a fan of this band anymore, last album that interested me much was daybreaker
| |
It's not groundbreaking, but it's fun and has decent musicianship. I'll probably enjoy the album.
| |
They've been on a decline since Hollow Crown. Out of the albums they've done since then, I prefer Daybreaker, but yeah. They went from being pretty awesome to just okay. This isn't bad at all, but I don't think it comes close to songs like Follow The Water, Early Grave, or anything else on that album.

OMG you guys were actually spot on with the BLEGH
| |
I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE BLEGH
I want Architects to release a shirt that just says BLEGH on it, maybe with the Architects logo.
| |
Architects should cover Static-X
"BLEGH FOR DAYS I
BLEGH FOR DAAAYYSSS"
| |
Those damn BLEGHs are everywhere. Typical Architects song, I don't hate it but there's nothing worth mentioning.
| |
ya tons of metalcore bands do the blegh way better tbh. song is ok
| |
totally BLEGHssed to hear about this today.
| |
I enjoyed this a lot.
| |
Enjoyed it quite a lot, too.
| |
For all that is good, start including clean vocals. Everything's beginning to sound copy and paste
| |
One of the few metalcore acts I still take any notice of. Sam's lyrics are always on point but I'm just not sure I can take Daybreaker 3.0. Daybreaker was a return to form, LF/LT was pretty much the same album. I really want them to indulge more in the atmospheric/post-rock side to their sound and incorporate it more often. Those keyboards worked so well on Daybreaker. Song is decent but nothing amazing here.
| |
while returning to the politicised lyrics of Daybreaker.
Last album was full of politics as well. The same ones they'll be screaming about from now till they end their careers. But damn, anti-Iraq war? This is some especially edgy shit.
| |
Haha just found out that they did a Slipknot cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9wlVGHKwEc
| |
Cant use the link cos im in a lecture but they covered wait and bleed didnt they?
I remember it being mediocre
| |
I've always thought their political lyrics were pretty decent and relevant but I really don't get why they thought we needed an anti Bush/Blair song in 2016?
Also Blegh
| |
It's not terrible, it ain't that good either.
| |
It's a bit underwhelming as a lead single isn't it? I wish they'd bring back the catchy tech riffs from Nightmares.
| |
They've been on a decline since Hollow Crown
THIS.
Song is better than most of their more recent ones though that chorus has some horrendous vocals.
| |
Not bad.
| |
pretty average if you ask me. Does not make me willing to check the new album
| |
Sounds great to me.
| |
Yeah the Architects cover of Slipknot wasn't the best thing on that album. Was completely outshone by the covers The Defiled did of BMTH and Hacktivist did of Cypress Hill.
For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHlocAFFeIo (The Defiled doing BMTH)

That reverse AFI cover tho
| |
For everyone bitching about the lyrical themes, if you actually read the lyrics he's clearly suggesting that the West's involvement (ie Bush and Blair) in Iraq have directly contributed to the creation of everything happening there currently with Islamic State. So no they're not stuck in 2003.
| |
^ This is so true. Song is pretty good. Hope I don't get flamed for it.
| |
lol blegh

THAT IS ORIGINAL! [3]

IS ORIGINAL! [4]

I never said it was original, just isn't as backward as everyone is making out.
| |
Really hope they change up the sound on the album.
| |
very generic and boring. that damn guitar tone is everywhere lol
