A user attempted to submit this with just a facebook link, and I figured if I'm going to write the damn article I'm going to at least take credit for it.
Album will probably be good regardless of the split, but it'll be interesting to see where Kurt lands next.

I swore I wrote the information above the link. How did I fuck it up?
|
| |
Interesting. I really liked Kurt in No Place and I loved his work with DGD as well. I wonder what will come of ALLB.
|
| |
pretty worried about cory 'expressing' himself in a 'more melodic means'
kurt was a huge part of the band
|
| |
Shitty news
|
| |
Why can't Kurt stay in one place? This is some shitty news
|
| |
@SteakByrnes It seems he just has "No Place"
|
| |
"I swore I wrote the information above the link. How did I fuck it up?"
Only the link was in the submission.
|
| |
@Feather That was wonderful
|
| |
album will still slay
|
| |
It wasn't mutual though. I feel bad for Kurt.
|
| |
the split was not amicable atomic:

I'm reserving judgment on this overall--but I will say that Coate killed it with alone., so if this means more room for him to spread his wings, it could be a blessing in disguise.
|
| |
It is quite a shame because I was really excited to see what they would improve to, the already stellar, No Place. Still very hyped though, I'm sure it will be great
|
| |
AtomicWaste - huh, weird.
Anyway, still interested in what these guys end up releasing.
|
| |
alone. was pretty bad so no, not a blessing in disguise

I Guess I'm glad I just saw them a month ago. Truly Random Code is my sh*t.
|
| |
Man that sucks. Dude seems like he's never comfortable settling in one project, but at least he's happy! Curious to see what direction ALLB goes in.

"It seems he just has "No Place""
Although he constantly seems to have a Plan B.
|
| |
I hear there's a second-hand MacBook merchant who's available.
|
| |
Alone wasn't done by Coate. It was their guitarist Michael Franzino. I do agree it was a total let down. Kurt leaving is a huge buzz kill as well.
|
| |
Bummer, but I'm definitely interested to see what they do next. I'm hoping Kurt's departure being unplanned doesn't show in a hastily re-written album, since they're going into the studio in April still.
|
| |
hopefully he moves onto bigger and better pastures because ALLB was not that
|
| |
do you guys remember how awesome plan b was? do you?
they will probably be better off without kurt
|
| |
Damn, Kurt was awesome for allb. This fucking sucks.
|
| |
@thecheatisnotdead - the alone. project was done by ALLB guitarist Michael Franzino, not Matt Coate. Franzino did the clean vocals on Plan B too, I wonder why he isn't going to again now that Kurt is gone..
|
| |
"do you guys remember how awesome plan b was? do you?

if you think kurt dictated that emo direction this band has gone down you crazy, look at cory for that bullshit. the next album will be more of the same imo
|
| |
@Calc - Thanks for the update! I've updated the article with the relevant info from Kurt thusfar.
|
| |
yeah i know all the spoken word stuff (if that's what you're referring to as the "emo direction") was corey. hopefully the band will keep corey in check and not let him do whatever he wants because it definitely could get out of hand. i'm just excited for a change. both their albums with kurt were great but it felt like they were starting to run out of ideas.
|
| |
i mean that, and the general tone and mood and prolly most of the lyrics of the last album
|
| |
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! FUCK!
|
| |
Franzino's cleans are fine so I'm not too worried about the more melodic moments
Kurt just added an extra level of character to the music; his and Cory's work together was amazing and it's a shame we wont hear it again
|
| |
Damnit, Kurt......
|
| |
@LewisShaw I agree, it was great.
|
| |
Still think it's really weird how they were demoing with Kurt little over a week ago.
|
| |
this pretty much confirms that the new album will suck. this is bad news
|
| |
Too bad.
|
| |
maybe someone was finger banging someone's girl

Well new song is a lot different direction so I can see why Kurt beat it. I gotta admit I like the new song, just seems like its missing something
|
| |
massive Receiving End of Sirens vibes on this new song, I dig it although I doubt they'll top no place
|
| |
What new song are you guys talking about? All I see is a 30 second clip on their facebook.
|
| |
It's on Spotify.
It really just sounds like a new project altogether but i'm liking it much much more than I initially expected to based on what Kurt was saying about why he left.
|
| |
I felt like there was something missing too. I feel like their sound has been stripped, drastically.
