Gazpacho return with Molok

2015-09-17 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 15 Comments
Art rock/progressive group Gazpacho have announced the release of a follow-up to last year's Demon. The name of the record is Molok and it will be released on October 23.

Across the album there are religious themes going head to head with modern day new science ideas and theories, Gazpacho’s Thomas Andersen mentions ‘the album itself is about a man that sometime around 1920 decides that wherever anyone worships a God they always seem to be worshipping stone in some form. Whether it is a grand cathedral, the stone in Mecca or Stonehenge. God seems to have been chased by his worshipers into stone never to return. This harkens back to Norwegian folk myths where if a troll was exposed to sunlight it would turn to stone but it also reflects the way God has been incommunicado for a very long time.’

Hell yeah!

Demon was supreme. As was Night. This will (hopefully) be awesome too!

I like the idea with the code at the end of the album, leaving the CD player to think and convert it into a number.
I love Demon, can't wait to hear this!

This is amazing news. The concept once again seems rich and interesting; it's amazing how they manage to present such ideas with a humility that is generally not typical to the general prog scene.

This is an interesting idea

"Norwegian music archaeologist Gjermund Kolltveit appears on the song "Molok Rising" plays his reconstruction of stone-age instruments making an educated guess at what the early songs of worship must have sounded like."

Gyro just put a colon after the "http" at the beginning of the address, worked for me.

Just did what you said, Talons, and it worked. Awesome song, beautiful album cover, most pretentious album ever made but, God, I love these guys!
