"I'm black as the heart of a fuckin' Aryan"
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ALBUM OH SHIT.
|
| |
this sounds like eminem lol
|
| |
*gasp* You watch your mouth!
|
| |
it has exactly the same vibe as several of eminem's songs and almost the same flow
|
| |
Good Kid m.A.A.d City isn't his debut: Section .80 is. Mad City is his major debut though.
|
| |
"this sounds like eminem lol"
no
sounds better
|
| |
no this literally sounds exactly like eminem omg
|
| |
the guest vocals are dope but i didnt like the verses
|
| |
he should stop yelling too
|
| |
Straight fire.
|
| |
Lemme go change my pants
|
| |
song is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
|
| |
Damn this is impressive
|
| |
Damn good. Far better than "I"
|
| |
And yeah it reminds me of Eminem too...good Eminem.
|
| |
pretty good song as a whole
|
| |
Not quite sure exactly how I feel about this track yet. It sounds pretty great though. I loved "i", but we'll see how the rest of this album goes. Still, I expect Kendrick will kill it on this next record. The man's on a roll.
|
| |
He's trying too hard to sound like a tough guy. Very forced.
|
| |
chorus is great, production is great, lyrics are good, flow is good... just wish he wasn't using that voice. out of all the voices he does, that one's tied for last with that weird hoarse/whiney one he does (i.e. the first half of m.A.A.d city).
overall still a really good jam
|
| |
Very good stuff.
|
| |
This is awesome, thought a lot of the hoarse vocals were really great especially from an emotive standpoint. I think that's more what he's trying to do btw, hes not necessarily trying really "hard to sound like a tough guy", lol.
|
| |
i know he's going for emotion, but when he does it for the duration of the verses and never changes it up it just sounds fake/forced
|
| |
the fact that we're even talking about him "doing a voice for emotion" is silly
|
| |
honestly dig this and I'm not into rap these days at all.
|
| |
Love the end lyrically
|
| |
Is it though? Skramz and punk music rely on vocal abrasion to convey raw emotion, I think he did a nicely balanced job of conveying a similar feeling here too. Tbh I diagree that he did it throughout the ENTIRE track, even if he did I thought the pre-hook, hook by assassin and intro etc. offered really nice variation. I can see how you'd disagree though.
|
| |
oh this goes hard in the paint
|
| |
yeah i mean it doesn't ruin the song, i just feel like the reason eminem (for example) sounded so genuine on his early work is that he let his different voice inflections come out naturally in and out during a verse, rather than just adopting it for an entire stanza (p.o.s was really good at this on his first couple albums too)
maybe a personal preference i guess
|
| |
I'd say kendrick has earned the right to be judged for the whole album. There are a few situations where I could see this song fitting perfectly in his new album. This is kendrick we are talking bout here.
|
| |
song is fire
|
| |
reading the lyrics makes the use of the yelling make a lot more sense when you look at the greater picture he's tryna put
didnt really like it at first but that made me appreciate the song a bit more
|
| |
Yeah I've never been too much of a fan of eminem, so I guess this whole thing must just come down to personal preference.
|
| |
^ i don't hear it
|
| |
oh. my.
Kendrick is going to melt some faces with this album.
|
| |
hopefully not
|
| |
his hard voice is seriously one of the best things I've ever heard ever
|
| |
I'm sorry I feel anything
|
| |
good for you.
|
| |
Where are the Eminem comparisons coming from?
I mean, I guess I haven't paid attention to that guy for 10 years or whenever the hell the Eminem Show came out, but I've never heard Eminem sound anything like any part of this song- not the flow, not the lyrics, not the tone and definitely not the beat.
|
| |
I mean I guess I can see one similarity and that is...
They're not afraid.
They're not afraid.
To take a stand.
To take a stand.
|
| |
this is solid
|
| |
i love that outro. i'm much more excited to hear the jazzy tracks on the new album
|
| |
seeing as eminem is pretty fucking racist, comparing Kendrick when he's absolutely going off on one on a song that contains the lyrics "I'm black as the heart of a fucking Aryan" is pretty fucking offensive
|
| |
god this song kills; can't wait for the album to drop
|
| |
Holy fuck, this is fantastic.
|
| |
Jheeze this is pure fire
|
| |
sucks
|
| |
F Ire

|
| |
I dig it the beat but the lyrics are eh and the vocals feel forced. Guest vocs are great
|
| |
This is a weak track by Kendrick Lamar standards. If this track were on GKMC or on Section 80 it would have been a skip track for sure.
|
| |
I like this better than anything I've ever heard by him
|
| |
how can you describe the lyrics on this as "eh"?
also, this song is fire. so hyped for his next album.
|
| |
flames
|
| |
id rather jam death grips tbh
oh no you didant
|
| |
White Uncle Tom music at its finest.

What do you think about this track Lambs?
Personally, and I might be going overboard, but I think this is one of his best tracks ever. It's not just
the fact that he goes through 3 different viewpoints, but what he says within those 3 verses. Especially
that last verse which brings everything full circle.
This song is combining how socially aware Kendrick is with how great of a technical rapper he is. Its
fantastic.
|
| |
fuck this is good, this and the live untitled track have me really excited for the album
|
| |

Exactly how I feel. Honestly, I can't remember the last time a song hit me this hard.

lmao

rules

I like and dislike this at once.
Given the reality of whiny civil rights era wannabes dominating the media, this track was necessary for him to be "relevant" or "conscious", he was basically forced to discuss this topic.
Honestly though, what I liked about 'conscious' rappers in the past is they said what people DIDN'T want to hear and talked about taboo shit that made them legitimately weird.
KRS put it well when he rapped "you can talk about Nigeria/ people used to laugh at ya/ nowadays I look and see 'USA FOR AFRICA!'" its so easy to be part of a popular 'movement' when you have nothing to lose by joining...
My point is its just lame hearing so many tracks about race, race, race, race, race, racism, race omg more race, RACE. RAAAACE. RACE!!! when its really not THAT big of an issue.
Its cool Kendrick is not just falling for the mindless blame The White Man shit, but still, I wish rappers would stop orienting their subject matter around what dominates cable news/twitter. I wanna hear rappers like Immortal Technique that talk about shit you never woulda heard otherwise.
Basically hes not even trying to make music i'd like him to, so giving my opinion on his talent would just contradict my actual opinion of him as an emcee, not just a rapper. Hes probably the most disappointing emcee I can think of in that sense.
|
| |
I wish socially concious rappers would stop rapping about socially relevant stuff. agreed.
|
| |
holy shit i actually kind of agree with what Lamb is saying
|
| |
"ZzZzz one day he'll make something as good as cartoon and cereal"
thank you, someone finally gets it
|
| |
lambsbread
shut the fuck up
|
| |
"when its really not THAT big of an issue."---youre probably white wow LOL

How about that artwork.

"when its really not THAT big of an issue. "
are you stupid? its an actual matter and will ever be so why not do songs about it?
|
| |
I WAS ASKED BY THE THREAD CREATOR TO GIVE MY OPINION ON THE SONG AND JUST FOR TELLING ME TO SHUT THE FUCK UP IM TYPING THIS COMMENT IN ALL CAPS TO GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT IM YELLING
|
| |
do you think that you're entitled to an opinion or something?
