I don't get the hate, I'm really digging these and I don't even like foo fighters. So far everything besides Feast and the Famine has been great.

From some early professional reviews, it looks like critics are giving this a bit of a mixed/negative response

To be honest, other than Outside and Something From Nothing, this is sounding a bit weak

I never liked how Mr. Grohl doubled his vocals on most tracks...just doesn't sound as good, his acoustic versions are my favorite

I've enjoyed the songs released so far, I don't see anything wrong with them. I'm sure this won't be the best Foos album, but it'll still be fun.

Sonic Highways is a great series, probably my favorite current TV series out right now. I'm not a huge fan of the Foo, but credit where it's deserved.

I've seen them live twice, both times they played for about 3 hours and left it all on the stage. Great fucking shows. Also, Dave seems to be one of the most down to earth celebrities out there and I would also argue that fame hasn't dictated their sound either, something to be said for arguably the biggest American rock band out there.

Aside from that, I have really really began to appreciate dave's lyrical talent based on the show Sonic Highways. The dude just has "it". He gets what works and what doesn't and really plays music for himself and the fans. I wish more bands were like Foo Fighters.

So is 2014 the year where every mainstream artist commits career suicide? Everything any major band is releasing is just really boring or really atrocious.

They are starting to get really fucking old. No one can come out with 1,000 fucking songs a year and expect them all to be good. I'll stick to old Foo.

Nickleback get hated cos they release the same generic radio rock albums each time.... Foo's do exactly the same and ....... "DAVID GROHL IS AMAZING!!!"

The whole thing's up for streaming on itunes radio...I haven't hit the last 3 or 4 songs yet but for the most part I don't see what the big fuss is all about; it's a foo fighters album.

I just love how everyone is trolling Foo Fighters for having a boring album when they haven't heard the entire album and don't understand why did it this way. Musical journey is all about discovery then putting your spin on it. 10 dollars that the people who are trolling this album listen to the shitty indie B.S that's out there like Hozier or Alt J.

i've been watching parts of the chicago and DC episodes and it's inspiring to see at the end of each show how these legendary punk and funk bands led to a foo fighters lyric video. liked the bit about dave's cousin too

please tell me the difference between nickelback and foo fighters
literally the same music

also- who cares about the "story"? what does that have to do with the music? it doesnt make it any less tacky.
if a backstory is what you are looking for in music, then you are not a music fan. go read a book or something

I'm sorry, Wasting Light was cool but this is just crap from the Foo Fighters. There is nothing really interesting going on with this album. It's just Dave Grohl going through the motions again.
